I just reread the challenge descrition, and I'm glad I did. Words like "implied" are loaded with trouble. I'm staying away from this one! Now where are my sunglasses... ?

I have a feeling we're going to see a lot of just plain old triangles in this one.

Unfortunately the way many people vote here, once they see "Triangle" in the challenge title, they will DNMC anything that doesn't hit you over the head with an actual triangle. I'm not touching this one.

I'm with you. That's what happened to my Curves entry. Subtlety rarely works here except in Free Studies.

ETA: Here is an old photo of mine that would meet the comp criteria in my opinion, but because it's implied triangles I feel like the voters would miss it. Opinions?

Torn between which challenge to submit too...

I think my sun pic will score decently... (for my challenge standards anyway...) My implied triangle one may very well flop...but it does seems a more exciting challenge...hmm...What to do, what to do...?

I clearly see the triangle in this shot.

I have choosen, in fact I had to get another person opinion as I was so stuck. I loved each photograph which where very different from each other. It was the original one that I put in on Friday night.

So beware!!! I am after a high score!!!! (yeah right, i am in a trend of 5's right now lol)

I can see 8 triangles in that horse shot. I am weird

Me too... I think that would be just fine for most voters.

It's the ones in the OP example, where the hands and head form a triangle that I think will be too obscure. Of course, my "Every Picture Tells a Story" image truly tells a story, but it's languishing sub 4.8 right now... so I have no idea.

I certainly see the triangular comp in the preceding horse photo. I'm curious how well many of the voters will perceive the topic. I am expecting voting results similar to what we saw in "Warm colors".

I'm pretty confident in my pic, too, and I'm the QUEEN of 5's... so beware!! ... or not :)

I decided to try a Penrose Triangle for the challenge.
After trying it, I have since decided that I will not be entering a Penrose Triangle in the challenge:

Fun but ...yeah. Pretty crappy photographically. I might vote it a 4.

Let this challenge start!
05/06/2008 04:36:59 PM · #37
OK, so I have a photo with an implied triangle and a photo with an actual triangle. Which one to enter??????
05/06/2008 04:39:12 PM · #38
I was going to enter a picture with three pyramids in a triangular composition...except all I have are wooden cubes with letters on them.

The best choice is to leave nothing open to interpretation. Enter a triangular composition of triangular objects.

I am glad that some people, HawkeyeLonewolf, can actually read the challenge prompt

kudos

Compose a photo using an implied triangle to give attention to your subject(s).
-as has been said so many times

I didn't have time to shoot this one, but I will be voting for sure, and while other users may not be able to read, at least their score will suffer the wrath of one

Ditto with my one but it's going in anyway :-) It's got a hit-you-over-the-head triangle in it, but that's not the main subject *enigmatic*

Having read this thread I will resolve to be open-minded when voting.

I'm in, but I don't vote on challenges in which I am entered.

Sadly there are no triangles where I live. I had to make due with squares that I cut diagonally in half.

:)

You are a hoot! And thanks for the super nice comment on my Curves entry.

a great example of what I think this challenge is all about from graphicfunk
Kudos to langdon this week. We have 6 new challenges to vote on or to shoot for!
I tried to find a good challenge entry for triangles this week, I found it very challenging but I ended up entering Sun challenge though. It was nice to look for hidden triangles.

I thought of revisiting this but was worried of the 'its a real' and the 'its not a real' triangle voters lol

Damn, I really wanted to enter this one, but couldn't pull the props together in time, oh well... I'll shoehorn the idea into some other challenge, ha ha!
