Promising. Overnight it went up from a 4.75 to about where I expected it to be. I didn't THINK it was that bad.

I don't always find that my photo is as bad as the scoring seems to say it is...but it's my photo.
On that note, I find this site always votes very critical in the competitions (and sometimes very rude when they don't need to be since I am entering and trying to learn from the expertise of those who are better than I am - which are many! lol).
I try not to let it get me down, I hang in there and keep entering. (I do use their critiques to better my photos hopefully)
I do need to clarify - there are those who give good constructive criticism that is very helpful...not all are unnecessarily rude (only a few)...

I am half way through voting and I have to agree with some of the others. There are full blown colours, black and whites with not a hint of any type of brown colour. several that to my eye look illegal in basic, and some that people are not even making any effort at all.
there are some that are amazing too.
we will see what the second half voting looks like

haha....I just took a quick glance at them and you are right. I bet these are the people who are probably voting everyone's score down too. Just curious...HDR is illegal in basic ain't it? Sometimes I wonder do people pay attention to whether or not the challenge is basic or advanced... |

From the voting rules, you are not to vote down based on your impression of following the rules. If you suspect it being illegal, vote as if it was done legit and then submit a request for validation. If it is a great shot but you don't think it meets the rules, give it a great score and then let SC take care of it.
