I was at a book signing by Gordon Ramsay today and got about a hundred or so pictures. These are my favourite. I must say that he really took his time with everyone, and despite his in-kitchen persona, he's probably one of the most likeable, approachable famous people. Nice guy.

Holy crap, here's an interview with him, raw footage, just before he stepped out for that book signing today. Hilarious! Does this guy ever shut down?

I absolutely love Gordon Ramsay. Kitchen Nightmares has to be one of the most entertaining programs on the telly. Fantastic shots!

Ah, I see you were at Indigo on Sunday. My wife and I are fans. She bought the book so she could go to the book signing yesterday, but she only showed up a couple of hours early, and the line was already maxed-out for available wristbands. Most people had been camped out since 3:00pm the day before.

I thought about just going into the store to get some photos, but we went off elsewhere for a day of R&R. Too bad, it would've been funny to run into you. :-D

Very nice shots!

Great shots of an interesting subject. Ramsay is so passionate about food. I like his Kitchen Nightmares series, or whatever the British version was called. The U.S. version is less tolerable -- he seems to have cranked up the nastiness. As for Hell's Kitchen, no thanks.

There is a British Chef at a local resturant here that worked at one of Ramsay's places in Europe. My wife has had lunch at the local place a few times and hasn't bragged about it much. Perhaps that is why the guy used to work for Ramsay?

Yeah, I think the American (Fox) version seeks the conflict and acrimony over the actual reason for him being at any particular place. The British version was more real, and you got to see his actual personality. I think it would be exhausting spending more than five minutes with him. :P

Man - Whenever I go back to the UK - The amount of gordon Ramsey comments I get about how much I look like him is annoying! I don't think so by the way!
I wish I could have looked like someone else!!
Nice pictures.

Article in today's Toronto Star, where the Star's food critic creates a piece of toast for him that ultimately has the texture of "Ghandi's flip-flop". The video's great.

ladies and gentlemen I now have sitting next to me a copy of GR's autobiog...Humble Pie (in the UK) and Roasting In Hell's Kitchen (N.America). Can't wait to sink my teeth into it! Lots of pix too, get a kick out of the ones of him as a fresh-faced chef, lol!

BTW people...I worked in Vancouver in the film industry so I've seen quite a few celebs up close off and on camera...of course GR will be lovely and charming in person...he a) wants you to buy his book and b) see what a kindly bloke he really is. Would people come to buy a book then get it signed if he did his screaming, fire-breathing, foul-mouthed HK act in the bookstore? Not likely!!!!

Remember most celebrities, but by no means all of them (ie Britney, Paris) have an OFF switch. They have to if they wish to remain sane. How often have you heard someone complain that they met a comedian in person, and they weren't at all funny? Or that they saw a fave actor/actress in a grocery store lineup and were disappointed at how small/plain/boring etc they appeared in real life?

That's cause they're in OFF mode. It's a means of self-preservation. Those that don't develop this crucial skill early, but others so truly believe in their own mythology that they tend to burn out, and often die, very young. And trust me, most celebs do want to be treated like normal people.

So GR is no less a great chef, of course, but naturally he's going to be on his best behaviour for such high-profile events like book tours.

OK off to read that juicy book now! :-)

What I admire about him is he demands perfection and professionalism. Sure he swears a lot, but what Brit doesn't? Sure he gets on his people, but that is just because he has such high standards and doesn't accept mediocrity just to get the job done. I love that. And who can not admire a man who says goodbye by saying Piss-off. Brilliant!

Great photos.

That would be Scotsman. ;o) Though he also could be a Scotch man if he acquired the taste for it.
