Well, it's raining here - again. So much for shadows... even if I had any good ideas. I'm getting a headache. ;-(

Do you think if I took a picture of a blank grey sky and called it "the shadow over the city" that it would get good votes? ;-)

Probably not.

An idea I was working on involved a reflection in the water... it would be more of a silhouette than a shadow, though, so I'm sure the marks would be poor. That and anyone who reads the forums would know it was mine.

You really want an honest answer? Nope.

I wonder if anyone will try that though. Take a picture of a complete shadow..a slightly dark sidewalk, wall, floor, whatever, and claim that it's a shadow. I don't think shadow would be photographically interesting without light parts though :)

You can make shadows on the walls too if the weather is bad. All you need is a lamp or flashlight.

That wouldn't have been an "ACME Instant Shadow Kit" would it? (Beep Beep!)

How many people will comment about how dark or light the shadows are?

Just looking over the shots from on the road (yet again). The level of talent here never ceases to amaze me.

I've had lots of ideas but I haven't really stuck on one yet.

These are my dumped ones (for various reasons)

Dumped Shadows

I don't know..maybe I'm just not into it yet >:-/

I really like the 'blue moon'. Would've voted that one high.

Hokie,

I really like the feather shot... You have hit a sore spot with me on that one.. I don't have the patience it takes to properly set up white on white photos :)

I was struggling with this challenge also... I couldn't come up with a decent idea... I stumbled across a shadow that I photographed yesterday and it's posted... so now, I think I just broke my record for an early post to a challenge.. lol... I rarely get submitted before friday or saturday...

interesting ...

this is probably my favorite challenge yet : ) .. it seem that the possibilities for compositions with dappled and/or moody lighting are so infinite, without limitation to a specific subject area (ala Games, or On The Road, or Upside Down, etc.)
