When you recognize a shot as positive in this challenge, is this a rules violation?

No. Not meeting the challenge is not a rules violation unless it was specified in the challenge description as being so. In other words, if the challenge was "2 second exposure" and the rules SPECIFICALLY stated that any entry not exposed for 2 seconds would be grounds for disqualification, then it would of course be a DQ for not meeting the challenge. Otherwise it just gets hammered with low votes. Ask me, I know. See "Body Parts". :-)

I've found a lot that are positive, and i mean a lot...keep your eyes open.

However some very inventive people (not me!) were smart enough to take a photo, convert it to negative, print it, then use it as part of the final photo. So when the final photo is turned negative.... that photo is then shown as positive. Very inventive and very legal.

Noooooo! the 10 in keyboard voting is 0

so what's the 9? a 9? i thought i read something about it when I started and it seemed...backwards to me at the time...? could be wrong i guess?

On most keyboards the 9 is still a 9 but if you place it in your lap incorrectly the 9 can become a 6 and the 6 a 9, hope that helps.

This is having a negative effect on my average. Not what I intended when I entered the negative challenge.

Well this explains all the 1s I've been getting lately. People thought they were giving me 10s. Yeah, that's the ticket. :D

I can lend my dancing carrot if that helps, don't need it this week.

Naturally the dancing carrot is beginning to wilt. Barely in carrot range now...

Yep, the idea was used in the first Negative challenge too.

other than it being in negative form -you're right it does seem to be a 'free study' --- hope your camera didnt' break;

i'd cry if my camera broke :( again....

I think I might have hurt my camera's feelings at most.. poor thing's not at fault. I was just trying to do too much with it. It's just a small p&s, it really can't perform at the level I've have grown accustomed to.. DPC has spoilt me..

and I think I've lost the capacity to get a five.. I'm either getting 6s or 4s.. This just isn't normal.. I still like my piccy in spite of the flaws :(

Same here ... down from 6.7x to 6.2x this morning in about the same number of votes. I thought negative applied to the image, not the voting! ;>P

Well at least your in the 6s and you don't have a daughter that is currently beating you. I went from a 5.5 to 4.96 since this morning while my 14 year old is hanging on to a 5.8. I am happy for her but oh my I just can't believe it has taken such a dive. Oh well, maybe I will get the brown.
