Hey I'll be at the NASCAR Race on Saturday night at PIR. Anyone going? I'll be on the hillside, my main focus is going to be playing with my camera.

A dream which I doubt will ever come true. I have been a follower of Winston Cup/Nextel Cup, Busch, and Arca for a number of years and would love to be there, but my rowing boat won't get me there in time! Have fun!!

Juliet, do you have any clue how many cars, and how heavy the traffic will be there?

well I pressume a lot.

The reason that I want to go is two fold.

My father used to race for the British Team back in teh day when i was born.

I would like to go there and get some shots of the cars and then intregrate them with shots of him winning in his old race cars, I thought it was a nice idea of modern adn old cars and to pay tribute to my Dad

My wife and I were fortunate to get royal treatment last year at the NASCAR California 500. My company offered great packages for really cheap. We took three big busses of employees up to Fontana, bypassed all the traffic on the LEFT side of the road going over Interstate 10 and all the way in to the speedway, got reserved parking, had a huge infield tent with live entertainment, all the beer, wine, soft drinks and good food we wanted, the NASCAR driver my company sponsored talked to us, we got shirts, caps, etc, pre-race pitt passes, discount on merchandise, and fairly good seats for the race. We got right out at the end also. Of course you can see it much better in front of your TV, but being there is an experience! Bring ear plugs.

I was going to suggest taking the park and ride from the cricket pavilion, it's 7 dollars per car, but much easier and faster.

There is a lot to do actually, there are tons of trailers selling stuff for the drivers, concerts, booths, it's kind of like a fair. Now it's been a while since I've sat on the hillside which is kind of separate and off to the side. There are also pit passes you can buy to go into the infield and walk in the pits close to the cars as they roll them out on the track. I plan to people shoot you can find some cool things to shoot sometimes.....
