I'm liking this PhotoArt idea, thanks for the scoop. I sense yet another addiction coming along like the one that's been haunting me since I joined DPC in January. I haven't missed a challenge yet, even from the 24-hour ones.

tried to register, but it didn't work for me using Mozilla FireFox. Tried to send feedback to the webmaster, but that didn't work either. :(

Okay... i really liked that site untill i saw what vmagic118 had to say...
Checked it out and on the bottom of the page it says:
*The photos submitted to the PhoTournaments are copyright of the respective authors.
I dont have time to look at these rules now. But i deffinetly will.

uh - what do you think the terms are here on DPChallenge? Pretty similar. check out section 6.2 of the Terms of Use here:

//www.dpchallenge.com/terms.php

I think this is a standard agreement when posting online info - they are basically saying that if you post something here, they can use it to help promote the site. Of course, "I Am Not A Lawyer", so who knows...

Dave is essentially correct. So long as the license is non-exclusive and you are sending in low-resolution images, it would not be practical for a site to attempt any real commercial use (as compared with promotional use). You would also have the right to make use of or license the image subsequently.

The only real risk would be in the event that a commercial customer wants to buy exclusive rights/complete ownership of an image for which you've already granted this previous license. I don't plan on selling any of my images outright anyway (and no one's been asking me to either) so I can't see this being a real problem. I am 99% sure the site would give you a photo credit if they used your image on, for example, a company coffee mug. I suspect for most of us non-pro photographers that's a fair enough trade. If you are a "real" pro, you probably don't have time to be messing around internet contest sites.
