| Anyone else finding "grumpy/harsh voters" seem to be out this afternoon? Just looked at what WAS a decent and respectable score to find it dropping this afternoon like a rock to the bottom of a pond! And, I don't know why as no one has commented. :( Ah well, not going to look again for the rest of today. Hopefully, happier votes will prevail tomorrow or later today. :) |

Figure this one out. When I saw the challenge I had an amazing idea quite quickly which was worthy of a 7 if I pulled it off. When I shot it it was nothing liked I'd hoped and figured it'd scrape 5 if I was lucky. I got to the point where I was sick of editing the picture and now I can't stand to look at it.
Now voting has begun and my pic's sitting quite nicely on 6.13. Now I'm annoyed cuz I'll have to look at this pic on my profile page for ages. Not that I'm complaining of course ;-)
How weird am I? |

I'm in the same (or adjacent) boat as you. It's my first challenge in a LONG time, and I have gotten so used to doing things my own way that I have forgotten how picky some of you are! :)

For me a "10" means I liked everything. It's a perfect photo. :)
BTW, how do you know somebody voted a "10"? Is there someplace you can look to see that or are you just figuring it out by watching your scores and vote counts and figuring out the averages yourself?

It's just an arithmetic thing. There's really no place to sneak a peek. You can build a fairly simple spreadsheet to do the repetive calcs. I'll e-mail it to you if you want.

I think some scores might drop a little because most of the true, hardcore Zep fans probably have already voted and they are the ones who will understand and be more welcoming of artistic interpretation. Now, be ready for voters with less imagination when it comes to the topic. So those of us who know this band cold, up and down, backwards and forwards will hopefully vote with open hearts and minds...
There are some really nice images here. Good job folks. I'm going back to bump a whole bunch of pix throughout the day.

I have an Apple Cinema display at home and it looks pretty good on it, but looking at it on a crappy monitor at school under flourescent lights makes it a lot more mundane -- maybe I should preview all my shots here, heh. :)
