Hi,
today I finally bought a new Canon Speedlite 430 flash! :D and it's amazing, but I have a question.
AF assist beam works only if I set my camera to fully automatic (that I don't want). Is that normal? If it is, why is it normal, cause it makes no sense?
And can I make it work with A, T or M modes on my camera?
tnx |

Should work in the other modes as well. It might not go off because the camera sees enough light to focus without the assist beam?

:( well, it doesn't go off... even if I try in full darkness. |

Is you lens set to AF?
Also, I think there are costum functions on the camera and perhaps on the flash which let you deactivate the AF-assist beam. Refer to your manual to find the relevant Costum Function entry.

It should work fine in all of those modes. However, it won't work in AI Servo mode or Manual focus modes.
