There was a good twist in this one.

"No Way Out"

The Believers...omg...did not speak for an hour after that one.

What Dreams May Come.

I'll add The Shining..
I had never read the book, so no spoilers for me when I watched it.

The Mist, the latest Stephen King movie. I loved the novella and was worried about the movie adaption, but it was spot-on. The ending was different from the novella and was exceptional. Not bad for a horror movie. :)

How do you not mention The Empire Strikes Back?

Ditto on:

Sixth Sense
Matrix (the first one only)
The Illusionist

Well just about anything Kubrick has done would suffice.

Doesn't hurt that they also chose a great song to play in the ending.

Hey, I forgot the movie Snatch, it has a great ending that ties everything together. While were at it with Brad Pitt movies I might as well throw in Twelve Monkeys.

Inside Man

Best ending, also best opening scene in genre.

10-4 to that, that IS the best ending to a movie....ever!

That one came to mind right away, though I figured most people would just consider it the strangest ending ...

How about the classic cliche ending of Casablanca, or the anti-cliche of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid ...

And there should be a special award for the "blooper reel" which runs during the closing credits of Toy Story II.

The BEST ending to a movie is U-Turn with Sean Penn, Jennifer Lopez, Nick Nolte and a huge cast.
It's one of my faves. Billy Bob Thorton is superb and I think that's were the "Billy-Bob" teeth were born.
And just a suggestion, buzzrock, please DON'T see the movie, The Shining. PLEASE read the book.

I totally agree with reading the Shining over seeing it but I will say that the ending in the book is much weaker than the ending in the movie. If you could put Kubrics ending in Kings book then it would really rock!
