Okay, so I would like to start using a better quality paper and more professional paper to give to clients.

I have no idea what all these different papers are, and what printers they can be used for, etc.

I have a Epson R1800, and can print up to 13X44 inch prints.

I was looking at this website, and found this type of paper, not sure what it would do for me, and if it can be used on my printer:

Textured Papers - Silk 8.5 C/1S Cover Paper 8.5 x 11

Does anyone have any advice on paper or what they use to give to their clients, and where they order it from?

Thanks everyone.

I've used epsons professional paper and find they are very good quality. I also use the Ilford and Hamamule and Moab. To me it depends on what my objective is. Am I looking at the archive life or the effect the paper gives. You can also by sample packs and test to get the desired effect. I prefer Pearl finish to most.

I have the same printer and have tried a few different types of paper.

My favourite so far is the Epson Velvet Fine Art Paper

Moab makes a nice Matte paper as well. I've used the 190 weight paper.

The Epson Water Colour Paper is really nice as well.

Epson papers can be ordered directly from the Epson site.

Most papers are probably available from reputable camera shops as well, like B & H.

I also use Epson paper as well, it is the only paper I will use, however I just didn't know what kind of epson paper would be good for portrait prints for clients. Maybe I will try the pearl finish. I am just not sure what paper to use for what objective.

Does the luster paper rolls work with the Epson Stylus Photo R1800? Should I buy the rolls or just sheets? I have no idea what luster paper is used for, but I have heard that a lot of people use it.

Lustre paper is like a semi-gloss. If you're not sure what your images will look like on this paper why not buy the smallest package you can find to try it out. (smallest paper is 8.5 x 11)

It also comes in a roll. Just make sure the roll width is 13" or less. It does come in wider width for the large format printers.

I wish that I could find the Epson paper online from a different site that sells it at a discount. It is so expensive. i am going to try ebay and see what I find. I wish there was a store that carried it all. Thanks for all your help. Greatly appreciate.

If you turn in ink cartridges @ Staples, they give you a coupon for $3 each cartridge. You can use up to 3 of them per purchase. So, if you turn in 3 empty cartridges, you now have a 'savings' of $9 to buy your test papers / more ink / whatever.

Beats tossing them in the trash...

They used to do that, but they don't do that anymore for Epson ink. Sucks. : (

I get all of my ink and paper from Inkjet Art. While it's true that the business is only a couple of miles from my home ... 99% of their business is over the internet.

I use Ilford Smooth Pearl and Smooth Gloss papers with my Epson 3800. Never had a problem with them and the results are fantastic! The only Epson paper I use is the Premium Semi Gloss but very rarely.

The best price I've found for Epson inks and paper is at www.atlex.com. I like Injetart because it has a lot of good information, but their prices are higher. I've dealt with atlex for years and found it reliable. (No I'm not affiliated; just an amateur Photoshop user.)

This thread is a bit old, but maybe this will help someone.
