I suppose your assistant doesn't have a passport he could use for ID?

Look at the Illinois Department of Motor Vehicles website for ID cards. See what requirements. That's where you'll need to get an ID issued if he's allowed one.

Does anyone know how long it takes to get a government issued ID?

my assistant lost his because of a traffic ticket and he needs it to get on an airplane next week.

if we go into city hall tomorrow will we walk away with one?
