I like the window view theme. Maybe something like finding a natural or manmade frame. A window, doorway, between columns, etc.

Your Pet- Just to get it over with.

The 'Backlighting' title may as well be changes to 'silhouette', as that is about all that will be entered.

Abstract - Abstracts are about lines and shapes. If it is recognizable as an object

Thanks for doing that Paul. One note, the description of Abstract was chopped (your code didn't like the emdash which was poor grammar here anyway) and is misleading. The rest is:

"it is not an abstract."

Thanks Neil, sorted that out. I used " - " as a column delimiter..

Minor but

Travel Guides - Take an image that represents an area as a visitor might see it. Enter landscapes, buildings, people, animals or a detail studies that might be used in a travel guide book to your chosen destination.

Can you remove the highlighted "a" please?

:o)

BTW this was MY mistake, not yours!

I just wanted to thank everyone who participated in this! Our potential challenge list is now quite long, and you'll certainly see some of these challenges spring up over the next months :) Job very well done!

I'd like to see a Computer challenge, since it's something that we all have, and rarely take photographs of. :-)

I suppose I should contribute too:

I suggestNaked Chicks. Naked Chicks are all around us, they're just wearing clothes. Get them to undress and take some pitchers. Be creative, and remember to have fun.

I thought of a challenge called Secrets - Secrets are truth known by few hidden from others. Take a picture that is supose to reveal a well kept secret until you cought it in your lens. (I'm sure this can be better put in english than I can)

Beauty is in the Eye of the Beholder
A photo of something usually thought ugly, but using your incredible photographical ability, makes it into a work of art.

Oxymoron
Or any other English terms that have been earlier suggested. Take photos of something that just doesn't work (inflatable dartboard, solar powered flashlight, etc.)

Flower Challenge
Although they are in every round, some cower from taking flowers for the feel they will be voted down for unoriginality. It's about time for a flower challenge...Flora Re-visted pehaps...no cat challeneges...ever.

Rule of Thirds
A compositionally pleasing challenge!

Edit: Groggy Morning Spelling.
More to come...but showering takes precedence!

I've always thought it would be fun to have a former-challenge-challenge. We all have a challenge we weren't able to submit to, that we would have liked to submit to. Make your Photo title the name of a past challenge, then we all vote on whether or not it meets that particular challenge. I think it'd be fun to shoot for and vote on.

A man after my own heart! ;-)

Actually, I was thinking Sexy, Provocative, or Stimulating. It wouldn't have to involve nudity, although that would certainly be valid. Sexy can mean lots of different things to different people. For some it might be the look on a person's face, such as DrJOnes' recent second place photo. For others it may be a particularly exciting pose by a sheep. It could even be a photo of a romantic dinner for two. There are lots of possibilities.

What made you think of sheep ? is there something you aren't telling us in your profile :)

Here are some ideas to add to the mix:

Affection - capture the feeling of affection in your photograph.

Dusk and Dawn - capture your best dusk or dawn shot.

Beginnings - capture your best shot of something in the beginning - something about to grow, something young, etc. (I got this idea from another thread)

The natural world - capture something in its most natural environment.

Big things - we've done a micro/macro challenge... now let's see you capture a subject that's huge in size.

Yes, it is indeed great to see that several of the suggestions here have appeared since as challenges :)

However, I am terribly disappointed that the best suggestion made, by Jacko, has yet to appear.

When is the "Naked chicks" challenge due?

;)

Out of context, that sounds so bad.
