Post your outtakes from the Architecture IV challenge here.

I tried a little experiment with my "Architecture IV" entry (shown below).

The image was originally titled "Regal" but after studying it very closely, I became self-conscious of the burned-out light in the upper floor (second window area from the right). I just knew that I would get a ton of comments like "too bad the top floor was missing some lights" or "the dark, unlit area at the top makes the scene appear off balance". With those types of comments there were sure to be some lower scores, I presumed.

So I decided to rename it the day after I submitted it (before the voting began). I came up with that final title in order to diffuse those types of comments. Guess what? It worked--no such comments were made, and anytime I get a 6+ score, I'm happy. :-)

I have many outtakes. Here are a few:

Exterior -
Interior -
Crypt -

I have lots more from the crypt but am trying not to be too redundant ;-) The shot I entered was my favorite and I am THRILLED with how well it did.

You chose well, Mary. :) Although both of those crypt outtakes are also very cool shots. Congrats!

Instead of this

I should probably have gone with one of these

Thank you :-) I'm still tapdancing over the finish.

The crypt was way cool. Fascinating views wherever I looked, and it was so small in relation to the cathedral upstairs that it felt almost intimate. Whoever installed the lighting down there did a fantastic job. I was actually most intrigued by those areas in the crypt outtake shots, then turned around to leave and the aisle view screamed "shoot me!!!" so I did ;-)

I don't have an out-take, but I just wanted to say that the images in this challenge were really outstanding. I think any of the images in the top 15 could have easily won any photo contest (mine was #16 and I don't find it nearly as interesting as those surrounding it - possibly because I see the building all the time. Really good stuff though from the DPC community! Thanks!

I was very content with my 62nd place. It was a new personal best score for me. I had so much fun shooting for this challenge. Here's my entry:

Here are some other views of the same subject:

And here are some other shots I considered entering:

Also made a composite of one of my outtakes:

Hope that's not too many for one thread! :-)

I had fun shooting for this -

First a bunch of porches (I'm tempted to do the Themed Challenge poster thing w/ a reshoot in better light of a bunch in this neighborhood!) and a gazebo

Then some campus buildings

And finally I got some sun when I was able to shoot at the NY State Capitol (where my entry came from) -
