Day 3

Day 3

Took a drive down the coast today. Port Kembla steel works are about an hour away. Thank goodness. This is a fairly heavily populated region with some beautiful beaches and some expensive homes. Especially on the escarpment to the west. This is what they have to put up with and Sunday is a quiet day for production!!!

Hi uploading from the Rapid City airport, as I start my journey back to VT. I have some beautiful more images of the sunrise as I made way through the Badlands this morning, and a few curios deer!!

Have a great day, all!!

Day 03 - Snowdrops
02/03/2008 11:49:25 AM · #59

Day 3 (to go with Day 2) Several asked to see finished pieces ... you'll be sorry you asked!
My latest finished piece of stained glass. My son is a huge fan of Blue Moon Ale. I'm not much of a beer fan at all, but I understand it is a white Belgian ale that is beautifully paired with a slice of orange.
He asked for a stained glass piece showing their advertising. That was one of his Christmas gifts.
The funny (slightly) story about this is that in February of last year I had just completed the design and was getting ready to start construction when I went out of town for two days. I came back with a shattered leg, four months in a wheel chair, 9 months of physical therapy, etc. etc. but was able to get it done for his holiday gift. You know ... Moms and their sons, LOL.

Edit to say: The hardest part was getting the letters to appear similar. There are a lot of rules that you need to follow as not to create weak spots in the glass.

I think this guy is a little hard to look at - y'all seem to think so, too. It was different photographing and processing something decidedly unpretty.

Today was my mom's 50th birthday, so we went to her favorite place to eat which happens to be in Indiana right across the river from Louisville(our home town). I couldn't let this opporunity go to waste because I never go to Indiana and there is definetly some great views!! As you can see I got a little over zealous today, but this is really the first time I have taken my camera out!

Last month I took a pic of our Sacred Heart Church and some people asked to see more detail in the stone work. Here are a couple for day 4.

Day 3

Taken at Windang - lagoon entrance to Lake Illawarra about 50km south of Sydney. Pelican was banking left to land on the sandbar behind him. Lucky to get this as sharp as I did. He was about 100 metres away.
