I know there is DPCPrints, but I am looking for an online service that clients can look at their wedding/portrait shots and order professional prints. Any experiences and or recommendations?

Thanks, I'll search for it.
I found a couple, but they charge for it, I am just a part timer so I would rather not pay. How about ofoto? They seem to do a good job, but is it good enough? ;)

DPCPrints will be offering this service within the next 4-6 weeks.

works for me. let me post it again.
It brings you to "Non Public Availability" in the DPCPrints forum.

It must be in the members forum, still won't work. Perhaps it's time to renew ;)

I think that thread is members only.

I was at a wedding last year where the photographer used an internet site for all proofs. He was prepared to the point that he listed the site and password in the bulletin at the day of the wedding. Very impressive.

He uses photoreflect.com. He used a link from his own web site to go to his section in photoreflect.com. You type in the event name and password and go to the preview section. You can but prints from there and have them sent where ever.

I didn't purchase any prints so I can't tell you the quality, but the set-up was very impressive.

I don't believe PhotoReflect actually does any printing.

I believe they provide the "public interface" to your photos, and you are simply forwarded any orders that are placed. You then fulfill the order using whatever means you want, and PhotoReflect sends you a check (presumably after taking out some sort of commission). At least that is what it seems like to me. I believe they are associated with eXpress Digital, which sells Express Photo, an (expensive) software package for managing prints, adding borders and overlays, giving customer presentations, taking orders, etc.

and it's 800 bucks to sign up! I was hoping for something a bit more affordable.
Shutterfly has a professional service, runs anywhere between 100 and 200 bucks, but they do take a cut of your photo sales.
I have been pretty happy with the quality of the prints there, nothing compares though to the local printer who you can return a print you don't like on the spot and have it redone.
Perhaps that is the way to go, display them online then get them printed yourself...

I've been searching for something like this myself. I'd like to be able to offer the images online for sale, have the commerce site take care of the processing and forward the order, and then print them myself. $800 is a complete ripoff!

I could code it myself, but I don't want the hassle of order processing, especially dealing with credit cards and merchant accounts.

It would be great to have the option of either. My high end printer is great for event pictures and portraits, but I'd like a service for fine art prints.

It's been over 5 weeks. I was just wondering if any progress has been made toward this service? If so, Drew, can you divulge any details (feature set, costs, ...)?

Thanks,
