Looking on track for a new personal best for me. Its great to have a new photo on the front page. Especially when it bumps my ugly mug off of it. Hey

Yanko whats your score, I know I am up against you in the Die another Day Bracket... Should I be shooting for earliest memories or not???? Just wondering how close we are, I know the last time you posted we were .08 apart.

I'm not entered in this one, but I've voted on a batch of them now and wanted to make mention of how impressed I am, even with the ones I gave 4's and 5's to. It's difficult to catch a bird the way you want him to look. They don't exactly pose for you. Even the relatively so-so shots in this challenge have taken a lot of patience to wait for the right moment. (I'm sure big honking zoom lens helps too.)

Oh, yes. Even in a zoo enclosure, a 70-200 2.8 VR helps. A LOT. :)

Good luck on the personal best. I think this contest is over though. I'm down to 6.26. Figuring that I predicted a 5.9 because it's not designed to wow the newbies or the drive by voters, it's doing pretty well. I'm happy that it has been received well among several of those I respect and have been here a while. Even the two favorites are from those who have a total of 204 entries under their belt.

Well I started out flying high, well above 7 for the first 20 votes, then glided to a soft landing at 6, which its been hovering around ever since. A nice vote will tick it up to 5.98 or .99, then someone will knock it back down to .95 before it crawls back up again. Kind of fun to watch, and a jinx warning to anyone who puts a comment like mine in their entry details -- "I'll be stoked if this one finishes above 6"!
