Hello everyone,
Does somebody know the difference between BP-511A, BP-514, BP-511, and BP-512 ? Do they all have the same power ?

i've used BP-511A and 511 in my 20D's and 300D and haven't noticed anything out of the ordinary..
the 511A is what came with the 20D
and the 511 is what came with the 300D |

| The BP-511A lasts longer and comes with the more power-hungry cameras like the 5D and 40D. The 5D at my office can eat up a regular BP-511 battery in an hour. |

| How long does a battery last? It seems lately mine run out a lot faster...The battery is over 2yrs old. |

I'm still using a third party battery (CTA) that I bought for my Canon 300D Rebel in 2004. It works just fine in the 40D, and I haven't noticed any appreciable change in its performance. |

Good place to buy them from. The ones I've bought are identical to the canon one I have. Same die made the plastic case, same color plastic... I'd bet money they get them from the same place canon does. Only they sell them MUCH cheaper.
