Someone gave me a Kodak Camera - C613 point and shoot. It is a couple of months old and has only been used a few times. The LCD is not working. When you turn the camera on it is just white with black lines/marks here or there. When the camera is turned off the LCD is grey and you can still see some of the black marks. You can take photos with it, you just cant see what you are doing as it has no eyepiece. The lady who gave it to me didn't keep a receipt so she cant take it back and I am allowed to have it. What I would loike to know is if anyone knows how to fix this? Can I buy another LCD and fit it? I would like to give it a go since I got the camera for nothing and I'm reasonably handy with this sort of thing.

Thanks Monique

Looking at the price for this camera I'm not sure it's worth fixing. The replacement LCD would probably cost you more than buying another camera.

Sometimes when things don't work for me, I throw the item on the ground pretty hard and then check to see if it works after the impact. Sometimes it actually works. ;-)

Like the other poster suggested, the price of repair would outstrip the cost to replace, with one exception... see if you can get the work done under warranty. If the camera is no older than a few months its worth a try.

Sounds like the perfect camera to do the aerial photography. Put it in timer mode and throw it up in the air. Whatever it takes a picture of is what you get. You can't hurt it anymore than it already is.

Novel way of looking at it.

Do try and catch it and you can use it over and over!

Make a sports viewfinder and glue it to the top of the camera with super glue? With a little practice, you would likely be able to work out a way to shoot without knowing exactly what will be in the shot. It would be frustrating though. If there is a usb out on it, you may be able to hook it to a portable digital photo frame and use it that way, but I doubt it would output while in the shooting mode. Maybe it is in the manual if it can do that.
At least the price was right for you.
