I work off a laptop Toshiba 17 inch thing. I am wondering if my screen is way too bright,

So the question is other laptop users, what do you have your screen set to???

Do you want the brightness or the resolution? Mine is usually set to as high as it goes for brightness unless I need the battery power and 1920x1200 for resolution.

Monitor resolution and Monitor Calibration are seperate things. Brightness affects calibration which for good calibration requires external hardware that can be had for $50-$100.

I use a toshiba laptop. My home P.C is usally used for school work. I did notice that my picks appear darker on the P.C than they do on my laptop. I became paranoid for a bit becuase I thought that was how my pcis are appearing in the electronic world. I couldn't tell you how to fix the problem I am happy to know that someone else shares the concern

Well, it is so screwy with a laptop, cos if you move the screen you see more in a picture and if you move it the other way it is darker.

I just gotta stop screwing around moving the screen LOL

If you run Windows, don't have one of the hardware-based screen calibrators, and use Photoshop, check in your Control Panel for the Adobe Gamma utility. You can use that to help calibrate your screen.
