Hi!

Long time since I entered anything...I have a new laptop connected to the internet

the software for downloading original images is on my old PC upstairs not connected to the net (still awake?)

I download upstairs..copy to disc and upload downstairs onto my laptop

How do I provide exif data if I ever needed to?

*goes for lie down*

TIA;)

you'd be safer to NOT USE ANY SOFTWARE and just copy your original directly from your camera (via card reader?) to your laptop.

Please check out the Transfer Software Guidelines to give you more info, and instructions on how to preserve your original.

Why not just edit on the laptop?

Why not use the cable for your camera or a card reader to transfer the original directly to your laptop?

And how do to get the image off the CF card to the old computer?

Just drop a few bucks to get a USB 2.0 (the 2.0 is important) card reader for the laptop.

Easy Peasy.
