*sigh* now I'm jealous. I've always wanted to see Egypt, but the thought of the day time heat scares me. How bad was it?

Oh and let me know if you ever get around to doing captions. I'd love to revisit your lovely photos if there was a bit of info about exactly what I'm looking at.

#1. Wasn't hot... was cool... that's why we're all wearing coats in many of the photos... ;-) Seriously, in the 70's (cooler at night and in the morning)

#2. They're essentially ALL captioned already... I shoulda said this in my original post... click on "view as slideshow" after you follow the link; then in the center of the image to turn on captions.

I didn't know they did light shows on the structures. While it's very cool looking, I can't help but think it's horribly wrong.

I would absolutely love to visit that area. Such a wonderful experience it must have been!

They've been doing it for decades. It's called Son et Lumiere (Sound and Light). I'm sure one of the Roger Moore James Bond films features it.

What? No Zahi Hawass in any photos? I thought he was everywhere in Egypt these days! :)

Egypt is the one place I'd really like to visit one day. You've made me jealous. Some great pictures there!

Very nice photos!

There just seems something very wrong about firing up some lasers at those objects.....

Wow! I watch a fair bit of Discovery Channel, always hoping to see things like this. You've put the travel mags to shame, IMO. I've always wanted to visite Egypt, but never had the chance. :-( I really enjoyed the slideshow, it's an amazing and interesting collection. The pyramid shots at the beginning do a great job of communicating their enormity such as I've never seen before. The shots in the temple at the end are beautiful, the hanging candles remind me of Istanbul, another place I've never been, but seen on TV.

Thanks for sharing, it's a great way to start my day!

two thumbs up.

Lovely photos.

Did you organize the trip yourself, or did you go with an escorted tour?

- Esorted tour. Only $1,600 for 13 nights, which included all hotels (& boat),
as well as every meal except for 2, all sight entry fees, a guide, and bus
transportation. I thought $120/day was amazingly cheap for a trip of this
magnitue.

- It would be very hard to do this on your own unless you speak Arabic, or maybe
if you have an Egyptian friend.

- Scenes from "The Spy Who Loved Me", as well as "Death on the Nile", were also
shot at Karnak.

I hope u come back again, as we say here in Egypt who ever drink from the nile shall return to it, as for those who never been here, you are all welcome to visit Egypt & don't worry about the weather, the best month for it is Feb,Mar& Apr the summer is also fun espaically in Alex but if you want to aviod heat I think those month r the best.

One of the places I truly want to ge back and see.
Your gallery really rocks when being viewed in Firefox's new PicLens viewer.
This printscreen was taken right after "flinging it" to one side so I could get some depth.

With my 1280x1024 screen, seeing 3 high and 5 across and being able to just scroll left or right, zoom in/out is a wonderful way to display your trip. Nice collection!
