started well, but sliding down slowly but steadily :'(

@bleu-dragon: I have to agree: many snapshots. Many not-really-yellow as well. And some real gems too :)

The favorite really made my day

I'm just lily-livered (i.e. yellow) about sharing my score. Yuck! WWIT? Someone get a wet noodle and remind me to never, ever, EVER(!) think about shooting last minute and entering again!

I was pretty pumped about it, it was probably one of the most fun shots I've done.

Heh...I thought I had a good shot. Way outside of my box. Took a couple hundred shots to find the right one...but, still, not getting the scores I thought it would.

I wonder how my photography is getting better, but my scores are getting worse......

I just started voting and commenting... will come back to it later... a little reminder PEOPLE'S STOP DRAGGING MY SCORE DOWNNNNNNNNNNN hahahahahahaha this is gonna be a week and a half... *fastens seat belt*

Started off this morning looking pretty good. But then the score started slipping as the day grew older. I really thought this entry was going to do very well. Now I wonder? Oh well!

I can't seem to break 5.7 my personal best and it was a shot I threw together. This one felt good and captured the look I wanted but it is slipping steadily from 5.6.

I concure with cryingdragon photography feels like its improving but the scores don't

my first challenge. This is my first SLR camera and I have never post processed before guess I "over did" it.

It's my 100 vote check-in..... not doing much better than when I started. Oh well, it's sitting about where I figured.

Shock. I liked the shot, so of course it's sub 5. LOL I'm starting to think this is like writing a paper - the less effort and thought i put into the project, the better it does.

3.6887, but 0.0000 comments

Looks like my 'yellow' is heading straight for 'brown'

This one is getting a lot of votes fast. Unfortunately they are not going in a very good direction for me.

Sub '5' yet again....maybe I need to take some time off from DPC. Although, my 'Rivers & Streams' is doing okay. Just never know. Everytime I get excited, plan the shot, set up the shot, work hard, etc etc etc.....I bomb! When I just take a natural shot, un-set-up and with little effort, I do much better. Not learning as much that way. One step forward, three steps back....my new mantra. :-(

So that's my problem! I assumed the voters would appreciate some nice subtle yellow colors, especially if the title brought attention to the yellow parts of the photo. I guess I should have known better than to submit something that is less yellow than a ripe banana. So when is Yellow V? I'l put in my banana order now.

Score ~4.6

Mine's definitely yellow, but one of my comments told me I should have used a different color ROFLMAO

pretty happy with this one, looking to see it climb some hopefully.

This was my first Challenge. I like it that folks comment so I can see why they voted as they did. (I wish it would also list what score they voted.)

Thanks for making me feel welcome with seven comments. It's interesting though... One comment said that the lighting was "well done" ... and the very next said the shot "could have been improved with better lighting".

So, how does this happen? Opinion? Difference in monitor settings? Is there a standard here?

I'm interested in figuring this out. But, I guess we ALL are, huh? *grin*

There are also some very lovely shots that dont have any yellow as such, brown , orange and brassy are not yellow to me

No, it's the difference in people. Everyone has different taste, different level of photo knowledge and different motives and will to write comments.

I don't understand it, great positive comments but hovering around 5.3. I thought it is a great studio pic. I tried to do everything right this time round. Expected nothing less than 6 as I believe that this is the best entry I've ever made. Come on... What do I have to do to impress?!?

And I thought I had it bad. Thanks for letting me know, makes me feel much better. Perhaps DPC should require that people pass a color blindness test before they are allowed to vote.

You have to remember that all monitors are not set properly. What one sees over another can vary greatly. If you're getting comments like that often it may be your monitor settings. If you only get those comments once in a while it may be the voters monitor. At any rate check your Gamma and calibrate your monitor. Then all you need to worry about is folks that haven't calibrated yet. You'll be set for most of us anyway.
