What is an "Exclusive Open Challenge" as opposed to a "Member Challenge?" I've searched the forums but come up with nothing. Thanks.

open challenge is open to all paying members and registered users.
member only is for the paying members only.
A member can enter a member's challenge and a open challenge.
A registered user may only enter one open challenge.

That's what I thought, but "Exclusive" is what's throwing me.

"Exclusive" means you can only enter one challenge of the pair.

Every week there are two, and we can only enter one of them. Thus the "exclusivity"; entering one excludes the other. This was done, incidentally, because back when there was only one open challenge a week, it was getting way too many entries.

Ok - just so I know I've got this down (I'm a member): this week I can enter "Object Isolation" AND "Free Study" AND EITHER "Fire" OR "Ice" for a max total of 3?

Thanks!

And welcome to DPC!

Does anyone remember where the one really long, tongue-in-cheek but oh-so-true post for the newbies is? Given Christmas and the possibility of new toys received and therefore the possibility of new members, we ought to find that one again.

Meant with all welcoming goodness. :-)

And I did find the thread - I have it marked... remember as you read this that it was done in fun (but is still quite valuable).

Great thread, thanks. Not much new info for me there, which is good I guess. Loved the line "find a cheaper hobby, such as collecting diamonds" (just purchased my camera upgrade a few weeks ago and it still stings).

Thanks all for being nice - a rarity in online forums.

See you in the challenges!
