So I am starting to fly more and more, and I was wondering how people go about transporting their equiptment? Not just the camera and lenses.
I have some stands and ABs as well.

What do people usually do when they need to transport things like this?

A few weeks or months ago there was a similar discussion somewhere in these forums. A notable suggestion was to use a golf bag, as the airlines transport those all of the time, and don't bother checking what is inside. (Don't have any personal experience with this, however.)

Your gear is expensive too.

If you're taking all of this lighting gear, I'm assuming that it's not just to take it, but because you're going to do paid work with it.

There are hard sided golf club cases that are for flying with golf clubs. They work well for stands. Put the lights themselves in Pelican cases. Carry your cameras and lenses with you on the plane.

You other options are to rent what you need wherever you're going or pack and ship your gear ahead via UPD, DHL etc.
