At the time of voting i noticed that two images are of the same person

and now i see that one image doesn't match at all with the users profile

I don't have any issue here because a picture afterall is a picture and is rated as per its own merit. Was just wondering whether it is right to have someone else's images in such a challenge?

hmm for the two lovely ladies, could they be twins? they look very similar in the profile pics too

Yep, I'd be rather upset if I hadn't finished above him.

Of the second example, if you look at the photog's profile, I wonder if it could be a relative? If so, it's an interesting take on self-portrait.

And yes - the two lovely ladies are twins.

Thanks Deb for this. The twins surely pulled it off in a big way. :) I shud have guessed, they threw in enough clues.

I think the soft focus on the one may have hurt the one a bit?

since dnmc is not ground for disqualification i do not see any problem in submiting somebody else's photo in self portrait.

#1 Twins

#2 -- Sorry, but if it's someone else, then as a picture it's wonderful and belongs in their portfolio, but clearly DNMC.

True, its more about the spirit i guess, otherwise it will become a 'portrait' challenge

The challenge was:

SELF PORTRAIT VI - Take your best self portrait and be creative!

I don't see how that can be interpreted in another way.

If the above shot is not of the photographer shouldn't it be disqualified? I don't see how this can be very fair. What's the point of it being a SP challenge if we all put pictures of other people in.

We thought it would be fun to do our ps the same to see what the reactions would be did not think people would think we were the same person and asked to be validated. LOL. Was still great fun.

I am in total agreement. In challenges such as "Self-portrait" if it can be proved its not a SP, then surely it should be DQ'd. I dont want to go all DNMC-Nazi here, but surely a line needs to be drawn.

Maybe the picture in his profile is not the real one! There are no specific rules that the profile pic has to be a real one. At least i cud have got away with such a picture- lol. I think we can let it go ( for lack of clear and unambigous rules

I was going to mention this also, the pic in my profile sure isn't me. Also I believe that not meeting the the challenge details (DNMC) isn't reason for a DQ...unless the rules saw so.

Which is why the site is going downhill rapidly. The spirit of the site is dying IMO, especially in challenges where its just turning into a number of freestudies. Dont get me wrong, I still love the site, it just aint what it once was.

I might also offer that with that particular shot there may have been a misunderstanding due to language barriers.
