My image was disqualified for the reasons of: You may not use ANY editing tool to create new image area, objects or features (such as lens flare or motion) that didn't already exist in your original capture

First of all there was no lens flare used as filter or motion in the editing of this image; this was the processing that was used: exactly by the book and rules of DPC clone out incidental power lines, twigs, dust specks, stray hairs, and similar minor imperfections.
apply filters, effects, dodge & burn, and other tools to all or part of your entry, but NO new shapes or features may be created in the process.
saturate, desaturate or change the colours of your entry or any existing object within it.
use layers, layer masks, and alternative layer modes.

I donít know where and who made this decision but there are absolutely wrong on the processing of my image ,the pathetic You may not use ANY editing tool to create new image area, objects or features (such as lens flare or motion) that didn't already exist in your original capture. Itís not good enough and totally wrong, i have provided my original capture as requested by DPC and all you get is the above?? I am sorry but i demand!! More explanation on how and what has made the person/persons responsible for this final decision. I am eagerly awaiting your response and i want you too take this very seriously, from photographers point of view this is insulting and depredating EXPECIALY WHEN I HAVE FOLOWED THE RULES AND SHOWED CREATIVITY IN MY ENTRY . Thank you. Faces

Uhm, perhaps you wish you discuss this with SC, rather than screaming about it publicly? Maybe they didn't explain the DQ properly, or perhaps they were mistaken. Either way, you should discuss it with them.

The vampire teeth and blood vessels were created in post processing. Both are "objects or features (such as lens flare or motion) that didn't already exist in your original capture." The editing rules are primarily for touchup, not creation.

Ditto what Scalvert said. This wasn't even a borderline case, to be honest. I'm not trying to be harsh, but everything that gives this shot its impact was created in post-processing, and that's not the spirit of the rules.

No, it didn't use lens flare or motion blur... those are just two examples of common things people have done in the past as a violation of the rule. That's why it reads "such as lens flare or motion."

I'm going to lock this, because entries are not supposed to be discussed during the voting stage, even if they've been DQ'd. If you have additional concerns, please use the ticket system to contact SC directly, or bring it up in the forums after the voting has ended.
