The wife played Guitar Hero at some store and has been obsessing about it ever since. I got the game for her as a Christmas gift, along with a PS2 console to play it. But I was curious, so I opened it up and plugged it all in last week.... oops.

Now I have to get her another gift, as I've spoiled this one. But we've been enjoying it. We both suck and are still on Easy.

Im working on medium now, I have 5 starred every song, including all the bonus songs, on Easy, and now im working on doing the same in medium.

Even looking at expert makes my brain hurt.

yeah i have 4 and 5 stars on most of the medium tunes. though i havent opened the coop locked tunes because i only have one guitar...

i've beaten the first two songs on hard so far - but only barely...

Yeah, I havent tried online yet, cause it just seems pointless to even bother with playing it online until you get up into the hard/expert levels.

I sweat and get real tense on some of these songs...how in the heck can anyone go to hard or expert. My eyes can't even follow the notes coming at you. Crazy.

Freebird is awesome though.

The Dragonforce song is the most ufn to play so far for me, and Slayer's Raining Blood has been the hardest so far.

Awesome game - we're on the Xbox 360 though. I've 5-starred both easy and medium. I swear, I played Raining Blood so bloody much (no pun intended) I hear it in my sleep and almost cried when I finally got my five stars! I am almost through hard (have another 8 songs and the Lou battle to get through I think) and have done 1 on expert. Thought I was doing pretty good until I played online against the 12 year-old son of one of our friends - he has finished it on expert. Brat. His 10 year old brother can play a few on expert as well.

I've never played it on any other system but am considering getting a PS2, just to play the Rock the 80s version. That's for later though - saving right now for Rock Band!!! It's not released here until the 20th but I've read rave reviews about it.

I have a feeling that you will be able to buy expansion packs fro the Guitar Hero III online, just like you can with Rock Band. Just give it time, and Im sure youll be able to get an 80s song pack.

Sold out everywhere around here. If I could buy it, I'd play it!

If you guys don't mind me asking what is the appeal of this game? Is it just fun because it's a party game or because you get to hear music while banging away at buttons? I've played video games before but they have always been of the strategy type not arcade so this whole thing thing baffles me much like the dance dance craze.

yanko. Have you tried it yet? I think it stimulates the musical genius in your mind, not to mention the exercise in hand eye coordination.
