I found an active voter with an average vote cast of 4.3. His vote cast was going down at times too.

Give it a rest. If that's the average, then he or she is giving a proportionate score to all of you, regardless of what you may think. Or it could be someone who knows it's yours and is playing with you... and you've taken the bait. :)

The silver lining of troll voting is that your score tends to go up in the short term after.

OK, we'll see what we got in the AM.

I know who's doing this... it's Langdon, clicking "Give random 1 vote" button, and reading this thread to have a good laugh before he goes to sleep... then morning he clicks on "fix everything" button.

HAH... coders.

If that happened, we'd have no votes on free studies.

More seriously, DPC is a tougher crowd than other sites. I also play elsewhere, and what I've found is there's a lot of "WOW that's amazing sooo so so so good did I saw WOW" voting and commenting.

One of the things I so value about DPC is that people don't do that so much. I get much more honest feedback and I improve as a result.

Another thing to keep in mind is that shots that score 5s here regularly get sold as prints, get used professionally, etc.

So you have to decide whether you want to play DPC's game: pleasing this set of voters. I'd encourage you to keep trying.

Oh, more on topic, there's some possibility I might get to replace one of my top 5 scores:

That is one awesome view/vote ratio you have going there - always a good sign.

People- don't worry about low scores at this point. We know exactly what's going on (and who's responsible, so you don't need to search). The final scores will not be affected, and attempts to sway the votes or tamper with the system will result in suspension. The individual appears to be correcting the votes now (a wise move).

Thats a well thought out comment. Thanks.

All I know is, even though many repeats in this challenge, I sure wanted to see lots of 7's and 8's not 5's or 4's ... not even "happy" 6's

Photos are very good, I think this might be one of the overall good challenges after long time... after all that crappy challenges last week. So, I hope things will be back to normal tomorrow. Not only for my entry, but DrAchoo's entry sake as well... we all are waiting in silent...

:/

You're quite welcome. And to prove my point ...

This shot scored 4.8 in a recent free study here. Yet it got 3 favorites. And on Betterphoto.com, which is a judged competition, not voted on by members, it was an editor's pick:

So it really is a matter of knowing your audience (I knew it wouldn't score well in general on DPC, but hoped to find the folks here who would appreciate it, and I did).
