I'm an idiot. I was really looking forward to taking some shots in the daylight (something of a challenge here at this time of year!), so went out at lunchtime as the sun was shining (a very rare occurrence!), only to find I had left my CF card in the reader attached to my computer. So, today's shot will again be in the dark :) |

I have a question about using one of the shots for this side challenge for the free study. Basically if I use a shot, not one that I actually submitted as one of my 31 but one that was taken at the same time or reshot using your comments for improvement am I breaking any rules? |

So after laying around the house for almost a year with a broken battery door, I called the company, ordered a new one for the kid's Polaroid P&S since she didn't, and now I have it to doink with......

These things are kinda hard to use of you're used to a "regular" camera!
I had to take four pictures of this sitting on the desk in front of me and hammer it around pretty hard in PS to get this.
I just love the feeling of incompetence this P&S gives me! LOL!!!

Well, you're technically not breaking any rules, but the very LEAST you should do is hide the image, and really.......it's sort of considered to be a general no-no simply because there will have already been people who have seen it and know who shot it.
In a way, it's kinda unfair to them, if you think about it.

OHMIGAWD!!!!!
That's *too* funny!!!!
That's one of the reasons I use my cord.....so I don't leave the card in a reader and zoom off!
The only thing dumber than that is to tell all your friends what a klutz you are!!!
Been there, done that! LOL!!!
Better luck today!

At least I don't mind admitting I'm dumb! I wouldn't mind, but I have 5 CF cards (had to upgrade to 4G when I bought the D300), so I left them ALL behind. :)

I'vew been an idiot for years!!!! I'm good at it!! LOL!!!
How come ypou need so much space?
I have a 2GB card and that gives me 358 5-6MB files in RAW.
Does the D300 make bigger files?

I didn't have a card reader in my computer when I first got my camera so I had no choice......I just got used to it.
As far as draining my battery goes, I probably get 1000-1500 images and downloads before I have to recharge.
That's generally not much shorter than a week or so, time-wise.
I can live with that.

Yes, the D300 Raw files are very large 12mb. The files are 39.5 mb when opened in PS - the D70 (5-6mb RAW) files are 17.5 mb opened in PS. Of course, I may end up changing the settings, the D300 has many different options for RAW file compression. (I have mine set to Lossless compressed) It's quite a big learning curve from the D70! Even the 4gb card only gives about 185 shots on it. The 1g cards I have will have to stay with the D70.....

These two are from the end of November, I had thought about entering one of them in the free study & since it is only a free study I thought it'd be ok to post them here. My day 4 is in a current challenge, so these are the temporary day 4-fillers :)
Any opinions would be great :)

So I spent all day running around trying to get stuff ready for a show in two weeks. The photos are at the printers, I have mounting boards (must cut to size), Plexiglas (must cut), mats (must cut), adhesive but NO frames anywhere! Can only use thin metallic ones so I will be doing the phone thing tomorrow.
No time to shot today, so instead I'm submitting one from last February.

To make up for Day 2 (I had a cool shot from the Breast Cancer run/walk here in SanDag on Sunday but Obligated to give Komen Foundation first crack at em) so here is a Desktop wallpaper I just did up for myself.
