Well, I apologize in advance for this crappy photo..

Slice Of Life 12/01/07-- Just listening to music on my computer via-- Klipsch Pro Media 2.1's.. These are some serious speakers for a PC, they get real loud and they piss off neighbors..

Wow... this is like the first day in a new school. I'm afraid none of the kids will like me.

We're snowed in.. so I'm going to spend the next 36 hours or so learning the basics of post processing... suggestions are appreciated!

Hello my Pretties!

I've been away and now I've returned - nothing like a side challenge to help me find my place on earth again - GRIN!

A little cheating this one - just been on a SUBLIME vacation and this is one of my favourite images - I'm sure I'll be playing with it over and over again - but for today I've left it virtually untouched!

Jeb, thank you for the details on the processing! Very neat. I have to try it next time.

WOW!!!! thanks for all the comments on my corncrib shot!

For those of you who aren't......hicks, a corncrib is a farm outbuilding that is either dual purpose for storing ears of the hard corn that is used for feed, hence the spaced slats, and equipment, or the whole outbuilding is slatted and looks like it's made out of snow fence.

As to the processing, I use CS2, go to filters, go to noise, reduce noise, hammer it all the way to foggy/smooth, which softens the bejeezes out of it, then hit sharpen once or twice to bring back the detail somewhat.

I do that fairly regularly any more 'cause I like the effect, and the clarity guys ping me for it in challenges, but I like the smoothing/softening things that it does for old farm stuff and buildings.

I'll take another shot that I've done this with and show you the original as well. I especially like it in B&W.

This street rod just happens to be one that was cruising last weekend when I was out and about. It looked cool, so I thought I'd bang off a couple for possible FS consideration. I live near Hershey and Carlisle, Pennsylvania, which basically makes central Pennsylvania one of the most automobile intensive areas in the world. You see stuff like this all the time.....it's just another car......8>)

Here: [thumb]618764[/thumb] And Sharp/Normal: [thumb]618779[/thumb]

I like the way that the grille and the pattern in the lights gets sort of blurred, but in a smooth manner.

I've been busy Christmas shopping, photographing fairies and trying to see the unseen. So unfortunately this means a paucity of creativity and time left for the side challenge...but at least today's contribution is in color, and it does come with a new story. On the positive side, this loaf of bread is almost gone, so I promise something different for tomorrow.

BTW, thanks so much for all of the comments about the day 1 photo.

Day 1 - Time Suspended

Our first major snowfall. I love the way snow can suspend time.
And an alternate version of the same street looking the other way.

Excuse me, I would like to quietly slip into the party a bit late, and add my photos to the mix, if I may. I have NO idea if I will be able to keep up, but my busy pace of life has made my photography really taper off and this is a strategy by which I hope to motivate myself to get out and shot a bit more often...

Anyhow, here is my first one for Dec 2 (actually from yesterday)...
