Very nicely composed, really like the pose! Beautiful rosy color as well.

For improvement...I personally would like it in sharper focus (its just seems the camera was a little unsteady).

I think the shot composition is wonderful, as are the colors. Kudos to the model as well.

As to improving it, the problem I see is the sharpness and the noise. There's pixel/jpeg style noise, and edge noise (not sure what the source of that is technically). Perhaps it's just too low resolution here, or maybe even to begin with. Is this per chance a small crop of a bigger photo?

In any case, very nice.

Like everybody said "Great Composition". Babies are so photogenic almost impossible to take a bad picture.

The colors and tones really give a warm feeling. Reminds me of Anne Geddes' stuff. Excellent. More, more.

What a beautiful baby!
I sharpened this photo quite a bit and added just a bit of contrast to it. I filtered it through Neatimage and it is one awesome photo. I don't know how to post it here, so you'll just have to trust me, you did a great job. :)

How precious ! The one thing I see other than the noise/sharpeness issues mentioned is that one green stem above the eye. If you retake this I would fix that or do it in PhotoShop. Maybe try to run it through NeatImage to clean up the noise then clone out the stem. This is just too cute for words !

Louise - Excellent shot! I love the composition, the lighting the color tones. Well done!

I agree with the others, the only downfall is the sharpness.

Faidoi was right - it does look like it could be Anne Geddes... :-)

Thanks all for the suggestions! We're going to try again this weekend and I will experiment with different settings and maybe a jerry-rigged bounce flash. I'll be incorporating your suggestions as best I can. I didn't even notice the stem! Oops. The babe and her parents are moving back to Hawaii soon. 8-(
