yeah still working on GH3. i think the difference is the speed of the notes.
but the hammer ons are easier on the GH series... ie: you just need to hit them in sequence - rather than in time like RB.

I will get but not on launch day... but its a must have for me I loved the last one... |
It's fantastic!
I bought a 360 for my son's birthday, and for his great results in school. :) I bought GoW2 for myself since I've had the gaming bug for a few months now so I figured I'd try this out. My son is hooked on it. lol
He should be online by tomorrow night and I should start playing as well. Haven't played console games in a while and I need some practice with the walking with one joystick and aiming with the other to shoot. Is this the basic way you guys play these type of games? Or is there a better configuration that's more adapted to shooters?
Anyone try Fallout3? Looked very interesting at the store. |

GOW2 is pretty sweet. I played a bit of the campaign but mostly online mutiplayer and the Co-Op mode "The Horde". If you haven't played Horde yet then you need to get a few buddies together and go give it a whirl. It's you and up to four other players, either system link or online, against the machine. You have to beat wave after wave enemies with each wave of enemies getting harder and larger, pretty wicked. |

I had the same problem when I got a 360. You just need to play for a while and it'll soon be second nature.

That sounds a lot like Serious Sam, that was one heck of a good lan game. Can't wait to try that out with my son tonight maybe. I'm in the process of connecting the 360 to my network and should be connected soon.
I played some last night before bed and am still in the learning process with the controls. Like Spazzmo mentioned, it'll take some time to get used to the controls but I'll be there with Tai and Dom kicking some Locust butt real soon. eheheh

I love Fallout 3! It's such a huge game, so you won't get bored! I love the amount you can customize. I read somewhere that you can't play it like any other shooter (eg. Halo, though Fallout isn't supposed to be simply a shooter anyway), and thats pretty accurate. You really need to use the VATS system when you can- but thats no problem! It's fun to watch the results in slow-mo ;)
Bottom line, my girlfriend says it looks boring- but if you're playing through yourself and getting all of the storyline, I think its awesome. It will certainly keep you busy! |

My buddy is trying to talk me into Left4 dead and it does sound pretty sweet but I just bought GOW2 so I'm gonna wait, let me know what you think it you pick it up.
As for the control thing, i pretty much use the default controls on GOW2, for halo1/2/3 I had to change it over to legacy controls. The more you play the more comfortable you will become. the real problem is when you find a new game that won't let you switch to a control figuration that you are used to from the previous game you played so in the intense moments you revert back to some old game control and go left when trying to go right or some other crap, frustrating until you can shake the old tendencies. |

Thanks for the tips guys.
Played some more today and I'm starting to get the hang of it. I'm a PC gamer and think that the mouse is the greatest aiming device ever, for shooters, so the transition is kind of tough, but i'll get it. We're online too so will def try out that Left 4 Dead demo, sounds good. |

Anyone playing Fable 2? One heck of a time killer. Sweet game if you are into RPGs. Personally I have the attention span of a gnat when it comes to some of those long drawn out RPGs (oblivion) but this one has so many side quests and character building functions that I can't turn it off. Nice story line, great graphix and music.
I have found a problem with it however...the wife, whom hates video games, absolutely loves this game. She is building her own character. Last weekend she played a record setting 5+ hours in one sitting. Made it kind of tough to level my guy up.
It is Co-op on XBL and Locally so it easy to jump in and help someone level up or complete quests. (The wife's level 4 inferno really helped on the Crucible). Even when not actually in co-op; people in your friends list playing fable 2 appear in the game as an Icon so you can trade weapons/gold etc.
The whole mechanism of the game was well thought out, the game is a treat to play for those that like RPGs and character building (good or evil). |

My son played it last week and liked it. He may receive it for xmas, we'll see. I liked the slow paced feel to it. Can you play together or do you need two accounts to play? |

My wife has a Silver xbl account (not online), so yes Locally you can play with another person w/o XBL Gold account as long as they have a local account for their Saved Games. |

Cool, thanks Andy.
I just got off GoW2 and I have to say I'm enjoying it very much. It's been a long time since I had some fun with video games, hope it lasts for a while yet... |

Funny, and I find it the other way around - I found Guitar Hero considerably easier than Rock Band! Seems to me with GH, you don't necessarily have to hit the notes on time, as long as you hit them. RB is a lot more sensitive - you miss the beat, you miss the note. I am completely stuck on RB1 Expert tour - just have Green Grass and High Tides to get past - been trying for months! |

My bf and I are both big gamers (PC and Xbox). My Xbox tag is Taloy. That's also my Xfire name if there are any PC gamers around here. :)
On the Xbox I play a lot of Fable 2, COD4, some Halo 3 (though I'm not enough of a fan of it to spend the hours on it most people do), Mass Effect, Rock Band, GH3, GTA, and a ton of arcade games. I'll pretty much play anything anyone hands me.
On PC, I play Fallout 3 (which is what I'm usually doing these days), Team Fortress 2, BF2142, Oblivion (which I like, but don't seem to be able to finish it...) Civilization, NeverWinter Nights 2, Bioshock, etc. I also really like good adventure / mystery games. |

Gameplay styles maybe. I can't even finish *one* song on expert on Guitar Hero. I can on RB. |

I just rented Saints Row 2, and I have to tell you, I wish I didn't like it so much. Why? Because it's UUUUGGGLLLY!! It's so damn hard to get past how horrible the graphics are. Blocky, jaggy, textures are crap, frame-rate is hellish.
Yet it's so damn fun. It's what GTAIV needed to be. So much customization! If they took the customization and many aspects of gameplay, and put them in the beauty that was GTAIV, man, that'd be a game for the ages.

I just played the demo today. Quite the ride. It was fun but got boring fast because of the one track. |
