With all the great PS users out there I was hoping someone with some spare time and talent would help me to restore an old and yellowed picture to good quality for a salute to this recently fallen police officer.
The picture is over 35 years old and would like to restore it to honor him
Thank you for any help.

I will work on it tonight. I'm sure about 20 others will beat me to it though!

The color of his eyes is unknown to me at the moment.
As for the color of the uniform, the current colors for the Cicero police is a darker grey shirt and a black jacket.
As for the patch on his left shoulder my guess is that it was white in color.

I believe the color of the coat is black.
This is an old uniform but the current uniforms are black.

Not sure if this is what you're looking for... does this help any, or is it even in the right direction?

Its is a good touch up but I believe since it was originally a color picture, I would like to update it without desaturating it.

B&W again... there's very little color information left in that picture, so you'll be hard pressed to get it back out, which means colorizing, which looks fake when done by skilled pros, to say nothing of me.

Not enough color info so I went with a B&W attempt.

Not bad. Probably the best you could have achieved with that source image.

Quite frankly for such a formal shot at a funeral, I think the monotone/duotone works better and is more "respectful". Personal opinion.

Thank you all very much for your help.
I will now be able to run both the color and B7W images past the family for review.
The picture will be used on a memorial card that will be available for the public.
