Has anyone ever recieved classes for the New York Institute of Photography? It is a at home based courses, with Video, Audio, etc.. learning interfaces. I am thinking about enrolling, but Im a little nervous because I am not sure if I would benefit from it or if I could get the same training by learning on my own and asking questoins. Anyone have any ideas???

And how's that goin' for ya? I've considered it on numerous occassions, got the literature and still get the offers. Is it worth it or are they still stuck in the 80's?

This is actually what scared me about them... Their material looks really OLD! I would also have to buy a tape deck. I have not used one in years! :-)

I am going to go buy one as soon as I get the stuff in the mail. They are very cheap these days.

NYIP is the cheapest online course you can have ever. the reason they are not expensive, you actually get to listen cassette tape :D there is also DVD as well, but courses are on tape. They do teach good stuff, and I learned tons, still learning. After I am done with this course, I am planning to continue another one, different school just to get another certification for my resume.

film, yes they also teach you that too :D if you enrolled to pro photographer classes :D

Well after abit of mix up. I finally got my first set of lessons today.

First off I am impressed to say it come fairly neatly packaged and as of right now they have joined the mondern age. As there is no cassettes anymore they are CD's and also there is no video tapes but now is a DVD.

And the lesson plans seems fairly well formed and easy reading.

Well enough chit chat time to hit the books, but I thought I would give an update to this thread.
