thanks.. but its not the saving thats the problem.. i can open it in any program on my computer and it looks how i want it to.. but the one that was just submitted looks completely washed out.. and usually they do... it upsets me because i see all these amazing pictures on here and i know mine is good quality just the submission tears it up.. :(

i was trying to unsubmit this one before it went up... but now its in voting and it looks crappy

did you happen to resize the image yourself, because sometimes if the image is resized auto by a program it just merges everything and it looses alot of quality

What Color Mode setting are you using? If you changed it to II, Adobe RGB, then that would probably be your problem. The web is SRGB based and before you post you'll want to run "Convert to Profile" in Photoshop to set the colors into the SRGB color space. If you don't, your colors will change when you upload them.

The reason it looks fine on your computer is because your programs can most likely handle the Adobe RGB color space. BTW, I use the same camera AND the Adobe RGB color space almost exclusively. I love the colors it gives. I have to run the conversion though everytime I post anywhere on the web, otherwise I get basically what you describe.

same here, i found that bumping up the photos saturation about 23 works.

Holy crap - I might be a victim of this.
