I have been messing about with my WB settings - finaly at the stage now where I shoot with manual WB.

Now on the camera it works great, a white wall will no come up white, rather than the orange cast when using Auto WB.

On my camera back it's white, but when I put it into C1Pro, it's fine whilst building the previews, but then goes to an awful orange cast..

This is easily corrected by clicking auto color cast, but why does it do it, and is there a way to turn it off?

Hi Jon,

Funny, I've never had a problem with WB. WB is usually an issue under artificial light, but if you shoot in RAW mode you can correct it afterward anyway. If you 'always' have an orange cast then it sounds like something is wrong.

I get whites on the preview and after downloading, and I just leave WB set to auto. As an experiment, you might want to pick a white subject and try some WB bracketing. What you can't do, however, is pick a manual setting which will always work, because white changes under different lighting conditions and you need to compensate for that (hence auto-WB).

If the images look OK on your camera but not when you preview them in C1, it may be possible that C1 is applying a default white balance setting of some sort. I'm not experienced enough with C1 yet to know if this is even possible though..
