Sounds like an Icelandic name. Do we have Icelandic members here?

Did a quick search and came up with 382

Do you think I should send him my old 512MB Compact Flash cards that I don't use anymore, since he needs the space?

Holy crap! And not a single one named Bill or Ted. Isn't the population of Iceland 383?? Who's holding out? Didn't Al Gore say Iceland is melting?

I guess I should read Larus' bio - as long as it is, it must contain the entire history of his country... ;-)

No prob... Larus clearly needs all the help he can get; I mean such a long list of snapshots in his profile and site :-) Runs and hides....

Using some questionable math, it turns out that 382 is about 0.1% of the population of Iceland. For parity, we would need 370,000 amiercan DPC members....we have about 750.

Use that questionable math to figure out their combined average. I bet it is higher than the site average! :-P

He's going to upload a print file and crash the servers. :-)

Congrats Larus... the cam is in good hands.

Really $8k just to upload a 150k 640X640 image! :-P

No for real I am sure you will get your monies worth, I know I will looking at the images it turns out! :-)

I heard the sensor outresolves the current lens lineup so badly that even the 85 1.2 looks like mush.

DCP has 63577 members so I would say that more than 750 of them live in America

Well a quick query of the users that listed their location I get 696 for the USA.

A slower server is probably the only thing that will be noticed when he starts using that camera. At 640x it's not going to show better results than the camera he already uses. It's not going to make his 85mm 0.5L lens any sharper at least from what we'll be able to see. Although I probably won't risk rubbing my fingers over his images in fear of cuts. :P

LOL! You guys crack me up, I just noticed this thread the other day and just wanted to see how long it would take for anyone to notice "my" new camera :) Like I seriously need more/new gear! Sorry to dissapoint guys but you are going to have to wait just a little bit longer to see some 1Ds mkIII images on DPC!

Oh and Erick, yes, my life does revolve around DPC so the sole reason for getting a camera like this would be to upload shots here! :)

I think that that would be something that one definitely wouldn't want to see in high resolution.

Although the extra megapixels are always handy for those SMALL details.
