OK, had to share the article in the No.50 (Dec. 03-Jan. 04) issue of LensWork magazine by Brooks Jensen. Lot of good truisms (131 total) in this article. Among my favorites:

"A good photograph, when first seen, hits you like a ton of bricks. A better photograph is almost unseen at first but comes back to mind over and over again long after you've stopped looking at it. This often happens unexpectedly."

"Lots of photograpers will claim that a photograph that needs a caption is an inferior photograph. This is silly and denies the obvious fact that all photographs are made, seen and interpreted against a social background that influences their appreciation and understanding. No photographer is an island, either."

These are some great bits from the "Things I've Learned About Phtography" article.. i have posted several of them here in the last two months... it's a GREAT read :)
