Hey Boys and girls.

I have some important Q...

I'm from Croatia, and I plan to go to Prague.
With bus.
So i was wondering should I report my equipment when I leave me country (on the border), or I should just act stupid and say nothing.
But if I say nothing. I don't know will I have some problems when I return back. (couse of tax and other stuff)... Please help...

Thank you.

I don't know about there, but here in Canada we can take our stuff down to customs beforehand and have it recorded on a card we carry, so that anything on the list will be cleared on return.
I'd suggest phoning your customs office and asking :)
And thanks for reminding me that this is one more thing I have to do before we head to Australia next month!

Pawdrix, I don't think it's so much what he's taking out of the country, as in concern over proof, when he brings it back in, that he didn't buy it while he was away, therefore possibly owing duty etc.
That's where proof of previous ownership would come in handy.

Duje,

Your entrance to Czech will not cause you any trouble. You are a foreigner there, and you have the right to enter with your personal belongings (unless prohibited, such as drugs or weapons).

At most, they will catalog it and ask for you to show it when leaving, so that they can ascertain that you did not sell it while in Prague. This is highly unlikely, though.

It is when you get back to your domicile, when you can potentially have problems. If you have original receipts of when you bought the gear, that should clear you when being asked about it. (Provided you have purchased those either in Croatia or you have paid customs on it once:-)

If in doubt, you should have a customs office in Split, go visit them and ask for necessary paperwork before you leave. I would hate to have them evaluate your camera bag to cca 2,500 EUR and ask for a percentage to enter :-)

Good luck - Prague is beautiful this time of the year.
