I think I'm missing something. How in the world does one imply an s-curve?
09/19/2007 12:47:11 AM · #2
just like an implied line. Objects that form a shape without being connected.

Oh! Okay, wow. That makes so much more sense now. Thanks :-)

Picture a piece of string in a shape of an "S". That's a literal "S" curve. Now take that string, cut it up into pieces, and place it in a loose representation of an "S". That's an implied "S" curve.

or for example:

A series of items that still lead the eye, without even necessarily being similar or connected.

A few 'literal' S curves. I believe this technique is one used often by landscape photographers to lead the viewer through a scene. I'm sure it has application in other genres as well, they just aren't as near to my heart. ;)

I'm sure Robert bear_music may have some thoughts on the matter.

EERRRRGGGGGHHHHHHHHH ! You're killin' me!
I got THE PASS, In THE most famous "S" curve on earth (or at the very least on ANY racetrack) for THE AMA Superbike Championship on Sunday September 16th, 2007. The 2 title contenders put on an extraordinary battle in the closing laps as it was a winner take all race! Any number of the photos I captured in a 2 second burst of 8 photos might have been contenders for my best DPC score ever. I'm offering those particular photos to various publications, and may have had to select from many others taken at that "S" curve.DPC has evolved quite a bit for the better since I joined. There have been 'refinements' and additions to the rules...What was once verboten is now common place. Perhaps we should petition for a day or 2 leeway if we have voted on more than a thousand pictures...

P.S. Anybody know how I can fool the site council and change the dates ? (Ha Ha just kidding)

So, if my S is backwards ... sort of a Z with rounded corners ... does that count?!?

Just stirring the pot. I'll run and hide now.
