ETA - I've contacted someone in the UK who seems to have ordered & received from CanvasOnDemand, and will repost their reply here ASAP. If nothing else, I'll call the company & see if they are willing to work with us in some way...

OK i have a picture i would like to do in my protfolio..

the thing is these are cropped and they were not shot in RAW... i think shot in Fine... should i just re shoot a pic in raw...??

I've printed jpegs at 16x24 without a problem. The ISO level is something to be wary of as anything above 400 will show up a lot of noise at that size.

I think you'll be fine with a jpeg personally. Oh, and I prefer the top picture.

i just applied and was approved today. i have to donate a piece to a silent auction in mid-november, and this is PERFECT. all i have to do is upload the shot and let someone else do all of the work for once. woot!

well, I decided to go straight to the top in regards to overseas customers. I called CanvasOnDemand, and asked the rep if I could 'speak with someone in management'. At first, she didn't really want to, and took my information for a call-back (fine, as that is her job to filter calls). When I mentioned having shared their website / product with so many new customers for them, she said "Hold on a sec?"

She connected me with Tom, a co-owner in the company, who was very polite, friendly, and appreciative of all our business. After a short discussion regarding the 'spirit' of the offer, I promised to pass on this bit of PARAPHRASED information:

"Though we will gladly fulfill our offer to original subscribers / customers, in reality we must realize that, in the long term, overseas customers probably will not become regular customers due to shipping costs. We would love to make such an offer if we had facilities in Europe, but we just aren't there yet."

Now, I know that that was probably not the answer most would like to hear. However, if you feel that you may honestly use their services for order fulfillment - BY ALL MEANS - go ahead and order. I have even received a PM (from someone on a different forum than DPC), with instructions on how to place such an order. (PM me & I'll pass it on) I did NOT get the feeling from Tom that they mean to turn away customers, regardless of location. Rather, he was being honest about logistics & the propensity for persons in Europe to place future orders.

Sorry, but I couldn't in good conscience try to 'abuse' their generosity. FYI - I was thanked for sharing their company's offer / information, but in no way received any additional offers / discounts / rewards, etc. (Even if he had, I would have turned down such an offer because I've already stated on several forums that I DON'T have any special relations with this company.) I hope everyone understands...

ETA - While Tom didn't provide any other offers, I learned from their voice mail recordings that they also run "GreatBigCanvas.com" While lurking around I found: Here's another thread, with a $25 coupon for this same company!

Well it is ordered! I re-edited my blue ribbon shot putting the cactus into the third as some suggested.

I just got approved too. Apparently my DPC profile is enough to make me a "pro", HA!
