I just got mine a few days ago and am very happy with it. I opted for a 20x30 canvas with frame. Below is a pic of it on my wall.

Scott - I think that would work just fine! I just used the page I have set up for my family to see from my comcast account :)

How much extra do you pay for it being framed?

Trevor, once you signup & login, the pricing is available for viewing (sorry, but I don't think its my place to share their 'pro' costs - might make them OR one of us look bad...) All I can say is that it seems to leave a comfortable profit margin, although not huge.

Everyone:

You're welcome! I'm getting a lot of ???'s regarding upsize of prints, so I hope this helps someone:

I'm using CS2 - so YMMV...

After editing (but before cropping!), I simply go to 'help', 'resize image'. (Don't bother with the image resize under the 'image' menu - it doesn't seem to do as well!) This will allow you to set all the parameters in one place, such as: output format (web or print), desired quality (newspaper or museum archive print), etc. It's basically a 'wizard', and has done just fine for me.

That said, all of my work has been in RAW format, using Adobe rgb @ 16 bits. Resize as above, crop to output dimensions (remember any borders you may have added!) I apply USM @ 100 / 0.3 / 0, and finally convert to TIFF/JPG.

Upload. Order. Wait... Enjoy!

Billy

I've got the same issue! which image to print ...

Me too. I just got a notice that I only have two weeks left to decide.

I'd print this--I think it would be great on Canvas, but then I already have a framed 16x24 of it.

Anyone with experience with canvas care to give me an opinion (or I guess even if you don't).

I'm thinking:

or

Feedback is welcomed. I want to order soon so I don't forget.

Why two weeks? does the deal expire then or you have only two weeks to get the offer after you signup. tnx

First instinct was this one

But a giant print of this one would look stunning. Like a gateway into the scene itself.

I vote for either of these...

Thanks for the input! I was approved the 18th of September. I got a reminder yesterday:

"This is a friendly reminder from Canvas On Demand that the code for your FREE 16x20 Museum gallery wrap canvas will expire in 15 days."

Got that reminder myself yesterday... placed my order today and ordered a second 20x30 for half price (My secretary loved this image, so the second is a wedding gift for her). No additional shipping cost. I'm looking forward to getting them soon.

I went to order mine today and was told my certificate had expired. I did not receive an email telling me that I had a limited amount of time left. I am oh so unhappy right now.....

If I would have known it would expire I would have waited to sign up. Guess now I have to rush and get a good shot of the girls.

My next question is about museum wrap. Wouldn't that look funny with part of the picture wrapping around the edges? Do you think that's only good for shots with a plain background (e.g., it wouldn't be good for my landscapes?)

I received an email saying mine was going to expire in two weeks so I got out my favorites and made a choice!

Neil .. geez you don't make things easy but I bet this one would look absolutely awesome on canvas!

I think museum wrap would be good for landscapes .. mine had to have black sides because the subject would not look good as a museum wrap. They even sent me an email about it stating they wanted to make sure I received the quality expected and gave me their recommendations and changes at no additional cost to me (even though one change should have cost me extra!).

Actually, I wasn't sure, so I left that to their discretion. We will see... My guess is they will just wrap the image, which I think would probably work well with the image I chose. My main concern is how it will print up at that size, given the pretty heavy crop I used from the original image (on the 5D) on an already somewhat soft picture.

It was like $30 more for the frame but worth it IMO. I also opted for the light brush-strokes option to make it look more like an oil painting.

FINALLY!

Next time I'm opting for expedited shipping. I have no patience. :)

These photos don't do it justice. It's perfect. I was afraid about the upsizing (which I opted to let them do) but no problems. I love it. It's not shown hung because it's going to my husbands office at work. So at least I can mark off Christmas gifts for the grandparents this year as I know what I'll be getting them.

I'll definitely be using these guys again. Thanks rossbilly

Leave room for wrapping, you can see how much it takes up. I choose the wider frame.

did you send them the DPC edited file that you upsized or did you re-edit it from the original?

When I edit I keep a full size version of my edits and then I make a smaller file for DPC (web). This was the edit of the original (looks the same as the DPC version). I sent it to them as an 8x12 at 300dpi and let them upsize it to 16x24. I used rossbilly's method above to upsize it to 8x12.

I'm thinking of having it sent to an address in USA then shipped to me in UK...

I take it I need to supply an american address to signup? Do they accept Paypal if my price goes over the $84 welcome thing?
