Sony Cybershot DSC-W200 - DPChallenge Forums

I just purchased the DSC-W200 and am a little confused about the pictures. I have the camera set for 12 mega pixels, but everytime I pause the cursor over the picture in windows explorer, the info window pops up and shows the picture to be 3 mega pixels or less. Am I missing something?

These are the dimensions of the images which can be taken :
4000 x 3000, 3264 x 2448, 2592 x 1944, 2048 x 1536, 640 x 480

It should be taking 4000x3000 at max resolution. Try fiddling with the settings again.

The picture size, does show 4000 x 3000, but still under 3 mega pixels.

Maybe you're confusing mega-pixels with megabytes?

It may be showing the thumbnail resolution, not the actual photo size. If you open the photo then right click and check the pixel size what does it say? hope this helps.

Ok, I tried it and this is what I get.

I can see the 3.3MB & the 12.0MP, I being new at this, I don't really understand what I'm seeing.
