On 4 September 2006 the world went about its business. But by the end of the day everyone was saddened. The world had lost a tremendous role model. Some people hated him...some loved him...but regardless...he had made an impact on millions of lives in some way.

He was.....Steve Irwin!

Today, I woke up...and the sky was grey...clouded...with the odd tear falling from the sky. The light is dim...my camera is down to a slow shutter...where it normally flies high. Like a flag...the world is in sadness....it remembers a great man.

But more importantly...the animals of this world lost a hero. Someone who, while reckless, was there for them...trying to show the world the importance of their existence.

Today is the one year anniversary of Steve Irwins death. Let's celebrate his life by posting his type of photos here...Yup...you got it. Bring on the crocs...for right now...they are crying.

Great thread!! I still cry when I see his daughter on TV.

You betcha! Steve was there for the animals...he was not prejudiced in his choice.

oh my gosh...it's been a year already???? It seems just like yesterday :( I really liked the guy...I thought he was cool! His excitement was so infectious!! Every time I saw him my first thought was always "he would have been such a cool dad to have!". I still hate to think that he's gone :(
