Ditto, including score. Wife wanted to go see it again this weekend to "flow chart" it, but we stayed home & watched Boogie Nights & Magnolia instead.

Long, but good. Notable for it's record number of f-bombs, this was actually a good story of gross excess, conspicuous consumption, loose morals, looser women, and all such things. Totally worth watching, but don't bring the kids, nor anyone particularly sensitive to language and behavior that is shocking to all but the most incredibly jaded and cynical among us.

9/10

I agree with your review, and would liken it to a Wall Street version of Goodfellas. Some great acting and really good scenes, it was bound to turn off prudes, or the sensitive, who could not see that the hectic-crude-wealth-sex aspects were all there to enhance the concept and prove the point.

Hobbit: battle of the five armies
9-10 I have been a fan of these books ever since I was a child and to finally see these come a live has been amazing! Never missed seeing one in the theater... we saw it sunday and it was the perfect story to the trilogy. The battle scenes are hotter than ever, and the effects just amazing. Of course, the second one was my favorite out of the hobbit series though, but it was cool to see everything come together for a great ending. It was nothing but battle and the most battles out of them all, kinda disapointing in not having more story lines to it, but the battles were pretty good.

This is where i leave you

A fun casting put together in a very cute comedy, we laughed and thought it was a "cute" movie. Nothing more, nothing less, entertaining movie and great story line. The cast did a great job. 5-10...

Revenge of the Green Dragons
If you are int the violence, gang type movies, this one will be a must watch. About the chinatown gangs in NY. Very, very violent, tons of killings, ok story line, but got boring for me in a few spots...the ending was not expected, but it was ok for a gangster type movie.
It was rated a 5, but for us, it was a 3/10. Could have been better entertaining, got old with all the same ol murders.

I totally agree with Adam and lawless, that was a great entertainment movie, a must watch! Loved it, story line was amazing

Not a film but i was quite impressed by the pilot of Amazon's new show, The Man in the High Castle, based on the excellent science fiction novel by Philip K Dick. I'm a big fan of Dick's books and his stories have been adapted many times with varying results. This was relatively faithful to the book compared to other adaptations - retaining nice little touches like the I Ching references - and it looked really good with a low key muted colour palate to match the setting. Hopefully it'll get made into a series. I really don't get how the pilot system works - it seems like a terrible way to make something.

Only Lovers Left Alive

8/10 This is one of my two favorite vampire movies of all time. The other one is Let the Right One In. This isn't your typical gore fest associated with the genre, but a moody piece that takes place in Detroit and Tangiers with English lovers who have lived several hundred years. Possibly my favorite soundtrack of all time as well.

I've been meaning to watch that for a while. I love Jim Jarmusch. I love Tilda Swinton and i love Tom Hiddleston. It looks like the best thing ever.

The Imitation Game

A good old-fashioned movie with solid acting. I'm sure the history (as well as the math) is condensed in the usual ways, but it makes for a very watchable movie.

Into the Woods - 4 out of 10

There is so very much about this movie that I normally love - Disney, musicals, Meryl Streep, Jonny Depp, Sondheim music etc - and yet, I wasn't all that impressed by this particular combination.

It is odd, dark, way too long, disjointed, has loads of boring stretches, weird bits of pointless singing (and I do love singing).
The start is ok, but it goes downhill from there.

Certain scenes, songs, special effects, bits of cinematography etc were quite good, but it just never came together into a coherent, satisfying story. Not a show for kids, even though the trailers make you think so.

I did enjoy the humour - there were many short chuckles and a couple of real laughs.

Lunchbox

8
Playing in Mumbai and with an Indian cast it's very, very far away from being a bollywood movie: No singing and dancing here but a lovely story about a young wife and a not quite as young man who start an unusual relationship via messages in lunchboxes. A calm story, that makes you think about your own relationship and working conditions with gratitude (hopefully!)

If this movie was mentioned before, I apologize

Why would you do that? It is nice to hear more than one opinion on the same movie!! I know there are lots of people who felt very differently about "Into the Woods" than I did....

Gingerdead Man 3

I would give a lower score but it did make me laugh. Other than that a horrible movie. I usually enjoy these types of movies but this one was out there. My girlfriend gave up 10 minutes in and started playing on her tablet and she will watch anything. We got this on a $5 20 horror movies set at a Walmart bargain bin sale

Fiddler on the Roof

10/10

My kids hadn't seen it, so we watched it awhile ago. It's so wonderful. Topol is incredible. The scenes are so beautiful. You can pause almost anywhere and frame the shot for your room.

Plus the graveyard scene is awesome. :)

I enjoyed it and assume it's a trilogy like everything else lately.

American Sniper 8/10 really liked the overall message the movie had but I am old fashioned and that much swearing turns me off even if that is the way they really talk. Even so I think it is a movie everyone should see. Makes you really think.

My score would have to be 6 or 7. While I think it is a great musical, I wasn't happy with the adaptation to film. It's very hard to go from stage to screen, and I don't think they did enough to translate. The group dancing and singing is much more effective on stage (I presume. really, I only saw it as a high school musical)

Musicals that *kill* on the big screen: Singing in the Rain, Guys and Dolls, Cabaret, Godspell, Hair, Wizard of Oz, Hedwig and the Angry Inch...

CyberBully

Yep...I plopped my kids down and super glued their eyeballs to the screen for this one.

Of course, I am such a fan of Maisie Williams who plays Arya Stark in GOT.

An infinity of thumbs...UP!

The film is based on a very unusual topic and I have never seen anything like this ever before.

"Finding Vivian Maier" 8/10. Her story is quite interesting. Still a mystery lady but now, less so. For a doc they did not mention that there were others who also purchased the negatives. //www.streetshootr.com/toronto-gallery-buys-jeffrey-goldsteins-entire-collection-vivian-maier-negatives/ . You can watch it free via Showtime OnDemand (or through their app). I've seen the main titled book with her work many times in the past few years but haven't pulled off a purchase yet. There's just so many photos in it, I wish it was edited and printed a bit better. It's about $25 these days, so might be a better buy than when it first came out and there have been new, other titles printed.

I liked it too. Soundtrack was spot on. Others found it slow and boring but I enjoyed the film. Nicely filmed.

12 Years A Slave - unbelievable true story (I read the book first) and an unbelievably amazingly well-shot movie. Think it won a slew of Oscars a few years ago and you can see why. 10/10
