Yes.

That's exactly what the original poster did. It wasn't their own image that they were talking about. You were whiney when it came to defending your own shots that, in many people's eyes, didn't meet the challenge.

Okeydokey.

I'm sorry if my point of view doesn't suit all here, but guidelines are just that. If some can't follow it, then they deserve what they get.

I forgive you.

Really, I didn't have one DNMC comment. Must have missed them all.

Yes, you must have. Here you go:

"Urban?"
"Hummm. not quite urban, at least as I define it. I wish my urban envionment had this kind of beach in it. 6 anyway, for a good shot."
"You have me completely baffeled. I don't see the URBAN Landscape."
"Not really a "urban landscape"?"
"Of, relating to, or located in a city?"
"I don't get a real urban feel here."

Of course, they took a little more time than to say, "DNMC". Maybe that's what has you confused?

I'll never understand why people feel the need to go to such lengths to search out a reason -- any reason -- to mark down a well-executed photo.

I won't claim I understand that either. But what I do understand is that we can blame the other members and their ignorance, or their going to such lengths in giving us a low score or DNMCing our photos, just like politicians can think voters are ignorant for not voting for them, and just like a business can think people are ignorant for not buying their product. The common denominator is that they all somehow misjudged the market they were trying to succeed in. So unless the voting is rigged, our scores reflect our ability to satisfy the expectations of the other members. Period.
