I only added one line of text, now I'm wondering should there have been an additional line of text?

Good point!

Well, I stayed away from this challenge. And, boy am I glad! I think this challenge has produced a great amount of excellent photos in recent challenge history. Great job to everyone involved and good luck to ya!

Puckzzz - I don't think it's the single line that is the problem. I think it's the font, the border, the whole thing. I saw several that I liked that were a single line. It's the sum of all of the parts that present a "poster" type image to me.

Good luck. I finally got some comments and one is so picky, I had to laugh.

I get comments of a great shot but my text layout hurting the shot. I should've studied for this one. Looks like most people expect to see the typical motivational poster design. I wanted to go with something different, pondered putting text on the shot itself, but didn't. But, doing a little over my avg score, so I can't complain ;)

I guess you're talking in general here? or do you know which one is mine?

You're right about the font/border/overall image being important, but it's still a photographic challenge and not an advertisement challenge. People study for years in artschools to get that right. Can't expect 'us' to do that just as well in one week :-)

The moment you enter the shot in a challenge that requires some graphic design, you declare that you want to compete with "us". See, there are lots of professional photographers around of which some may have studied photography or have similar photographic education. Yet I do not complain when they score higher than me in challenges, write comments about things I couldn't have known or changed due to my lack of experience, or score my entries lower because they see things I didn't even think about.

I didn't mean that in a bad way.
I've learnt a lot since I've been here, and I enjoy the challenges a lot.

it wasn't a complaint or anything, just a thought.

You ripped me a new one, but I'll let you live. Actually two of my three comments aren't exactly positive, but I'm still holding over 6.1. It can't be all that bad.

Yeah, eyewave, you are one picky voter ;~D But that's ok. I wasn't offended.

Puckzzz - I wasn't speaking of you specifically, just in general. When the challenge is one involving more than just a photo, I guess the voters vote accordingly. I did.

I hope it at least gets over a 5, I'm afraid I will be one of the people who get beaten by the brick wall ;). I was happy to see other people try to incorporate some humor in their entry.

Thanks so much for the comments. I am really getting dinged on the font I used. What font do they use for motivational posters?

(I'm not complaining, I just want to redo my poster for my room and want to know which font should be used. Thanks for your help)
