So Librodo came to visit earlier this summer. While he was here we figured we should set up a shoot or two since...well...that's what we do. We set up three shoots with individual models, then one big studio one with a dozen or so models and 5 fotogs. SO much fun.

We both entered a few of those shots into challenges, which you may or may not recognize from early July.

mine:

Manny's:

As a little community service offering, I took one of Manny at work.

Now that you've seen how he does it, anyone can shoot photos like he does. Sorry for giving your secret away, Pare.

Manny also let me use him as a model for a few. As a little bit of a tribute, we gave him the Librodo treatment with veil, diffuse glow, and a dash of secret sauce:

Even if I *could* explain this one, I wouldn't.

About 2000 photos came out of those sessions for me, a few of which are posted HERE.

And finally, this is a link to his PBase gallery from his time here.

Manny's PBase Gallery from Canada

For those that have seen his work here in the challenges and think he's a one-trick pony, I offer this link up with a big "Bite Me". The dude's got skills oozing from his pores, and frankly I'm humbled when I'm around him. I've had the great fortune of spending time with him both in his homeland and now my own, and I'm proud to call him a friend.

Anyway that's it from me. A long-ass post to be sure, but I hope you have some fun checking out the stuff we did while he was here. 'Twas an experience I won't forget anytime soon.

P's out. Thanks for bearing with me.

Wow. 's all I can say about the imags you both produced in your time together. AMAZING.

Did you get a chance to bottle up some of that pore ooze so you can sell it to some of us mortals? :)

Stunning! But shouldn't it be titled: "CANADA : The Land of Beautiful People...and Pedro" ? :P

Thanks for posting the pics links and story! Both of your works are inspiring!

I think he was giving me credit for my kid's good looks. Though most of us know it's his mom that deserves it. :)

Now it's my turn.

Pedro welcomed me like a long lost friend to his home in Calgary. After 2 days of workshop in Edmonton, I wanted to shoot something I like, something that I was sure Pedro also like.

To cut the story short, this man not only gave me a place to stay and sleep, but also gave me a chance to shoot some of the most amazing "models" ever. Of course I didn't have to look that far. As a token of appreciation, I felt it was an obligation to take his picture first or else, I won't get another invitation next year.

Thanks also to Rosalinda (shecoya) for the company, etc...

Last Saturday I flashed some people about 5-8 feet away with my SB-800 after they had about 5-6 beers on a porch outside, in the dark. I don't recommend doing that, I hope I see them again...

The "O"'s(Lobrod-o, Pedr-o) at the end of your names must mean you've taken Outstanding shots.

As a testament to how smart I really am, I was holding up a metal tripod with a live powered flash unit high into the air to light Sabina...in a lightning storm. ahhh, the things we do for the love of the art :)

this was actually back in June...it just took that long to get to editing the photos :)

and G...my hair was actually shorter when I started the day; all the static electricity in the air must have actually pulled it out of my head.

what, you guys didn't get the invites? I mailed out the engraved invitation weeks in advance!

actually it was a last minute thing. Manny was in Edmonton doing some workshops, and I convinced him to come to cowtown instead of staying up there for the last 2 days.

However, I'm petitioning to have him come to the big workshop we're doing here next year (with Kiwi and Nasti), and y'all are invited to that. I'll post something soon about that - dates and so on. Good times will be had by all :)
