Personally I would file a law suit against both the person (theif) and the websites holding them, FIrst I would send letters, faxes, emails to the website saying formal complaints will be made and if the picture and account aren't removed in 10 buisness days they would have a lawsuit filed pursued and completed. If in fact you can prove you have the original, and that it is yours. If it has been copyrighted... (which it has. at least in canada anything signed, stamped, or Published... ie DPC) its copyrighted!

I'm mostly recording this here now for evidential purposes, should I need it. Posted in paulewing's Webshots forum today:
"Dear Paul, I saw your comments. I am sorry for what ny daughter has done. There is no excuse for it. She was placed on 3 years probation and has 300 hours of community service for using others photos and other acts. I do not expect you to understand why I have not been to the other sites but I am going to tell you. I have to go to "chemo" three times a week. Sometimes I am weak and then I will have a good day. I do not want to loss you as friend because of this. I have email all that I know about and appoligised. Please keep me in you prayers."
So, did anyone here ( IreneM?) get an apology from Faye Mozingo as she claims to have contacted and apologized to affected parties? Because I sure haven't received any apologies, and I have no doubt she knows who I am now. I'm easily contacted through DPC, which I have linked to repeatedly.
I want to know who sued? How did they prove damages to warrant such a hefty sentence? How did they get it in front of a judge so quickly that in less than a month she was tried and convicted? And how did they prove it was the daughter versus the account holder? A guilty plea, perhaps, but I somehow suspect this is a lot of bunk.
She also claims not to have been to the other site, but the album cover changed sometime in the last few days. I look in on the site every couple days to see if my photo is still there, so I'm well aware that someone has logged into her account and made visible changes to it.

Maybe you need to take a screen shot of the website to help show activity. This kinda stuff sucks.
BTW my Google search of "faye mozingo" came up with this in the #1 position.

Yes, Paul sent me a message as well as the one on his own space. I responded and thanked him. It's nice to know that SOME there have integrity! :)
The rest, IMO,smells suspiciously of rotten fish. She claims it was her daughter while she was in hospital, but at the same time the stolen images were being posted, many of her received messages show that she was leaving "sweet" comments on others' albums. So, was that her daughter too? She's not disclaiming those!
Who brought legal proceedings against her daughter? Were any of you contacted regarding evidence, etc? And is it even possible for it all to be resolved in a month and a half? (I've never had anything to do with the courts, so I don't know.)
And I'm not convinced all the shots she has posted now are taken by her.
The hospital gardens, yes. But comparing the quality of those to many of the others makes me still very suspicious.
I just feel sorry for others sucked into believing and trusting her, and probably wasting their caring on someone who may be living a totally fabricated cyber-life, not to mention those who she (or daughter or neighbour's dog or whoever) has stolen from.
eta:Btw, Rebecca, she DID leave a message on mine, CanonCanuck.
(I guess I need to change that to NikonCanuck now, eh? :) )

Okay, it just occurred to me to check my messages on Webshots since BeeCee mentioned checking hers - funny how a thing like that can escape you. She has left messages for me, even a month ago. She says she's trying to straighten it out.
FWIW, I'm grateful to be receiving contrite messages from her now, but on the other hand, I don't see how chemo would keep her from the other sites when it obviously doesn't keep her off Webshots.
I don't care about lawsuits, honestly. I just want her to stop talking about doing the right thing and start doing it instead.

Every person I have caught stealing my images and presented them a bill with has had the excuse that the photographer they hired to create images did it (I guess they couldn't tell the dog wasn't theirs) but he/she had recently died and they couldn't go after them. One person tried to get me to feel sorry for her by saying she was getting a divorce and her horse rolled on her and broke her arm and a couple of ribs. When caught, they all have excuses or reasons or try to mitagate the circumstances. I wouldn't believe her about her daughter or about the chemo unless I saw her actually being treated... and even then I'd be suspicious. People like this have spent a lot of years perfecting their lies and scams. That's why they sound so believable, they have practiced so much.

I just checked that webshots link (to mozingo1's albums) and they all look empty to me.

Ummm. Thats pure bs.
As far as I know it wouldnt be a criminal trial, it would be a civil trial...and in civil trials you don't get probation and community service. |

I can't disprove it, can I? But it was said tongue-in-cheek, meant to show that the excuse, whether true or not, was lame. If she could check Webshots, she could easily spend two minutes hitting the "delete" button over at PhotoSite too.
At any rate, the photo is now gone and that's the outcome I wanted.

| A question, is it possible for you or SC to change the photos number so that it no longer links up? Surely theres a way to disconnect the link so to speak? I know that it would be difficult in that the photos are also link in threads and challenges in DPC but surely there would be a way around that. |

Awhile ago I had someone link to a shot of mine. It wasn't a challenge shot, so I took it down and reposted it. That gave it a new number and solved my problem, such as it was.

You should have just changed the image (edit/upload different file). :P That would throw them off a tad. He-he. |

| Ha. That would have been the best, change the image to a big pile of crap or you holding up a sign that says "THIS PERSON STOLE IMAGES FROM ME, THEY ARE A LOSER" or something a little more offensive. |

| Just in case you might like to know Faye Mozingo's "husband" has posted that she has passed away. I'm not sure if it is true or not but a new member was created on Aug 17th "Heavenbound12" and is a member of all the groups that she was. It just seems a little too coincidental!! |
